I do wonder on Doyle what his wages are considering he signed a long deal with City after his loan to us. Assume Wrexham don’t have the wage cap we do. Might explain us looking at Hughes (also hughes can play on both sides of the defence)I know its all ifs and buts, but considering we were chucking 9 million quid at Hull for Hughes, Callum Doyle for 8 million is an absolute no brainer. We know how good he is, and he can also play LB
Makes fucking zero sense to me
Unreal signing for the sheep botherers though

Kind of over Doyle now, its a boring saga. He's good but i'm sure we can find as good or better... as for spunking a combined £18 million on Broadhead and Doyle, i'm not sure what to say. You could build a fairly competitive team with that kind of money but theirs still looks pretty poor overall. Think Parkinson will be hopelessly exposed this season.
Lose out to Wrexham?Strand Larsen looks like he’s off to Newcastle. I have a sneaking suspicion Wolves will go for Haji.
Very frustrating to lose out on Doyle to Wrexham as well.
Does seem that way. Although wonder how’s that getting on as we’ve had no news or murmurs for a bit and latest rumours have us looking elsewhereMaybe we just prefer Hughes...
Hopefully we're getting to the point where our quality can get us past the shithouses of the division. Derby were a horrible outfit and in the end we took the piss really. But yeh i agree that he'll probably keep them up and also that they'll need to be brave and move him on if they want to be upwardly mobile in the division. He's fine for keeping a club in the division. He did it with Bolton under significant constraints. His style of football, while ugly, is kryptonite to certain teams - us particularly.
However, he's nowhere near good enough to be able to get Wrexham promoted, even with a more balanced squad. They'll need to look elsewhere if they wish to get out of this division.
Coady is a snail , there's no way we could play a high line with himI'd be happy with their CB pairing of Coady and Doyle.
Wages and location would be my bet.Maybe doyle didn’t want to come here, wasn’t exactly welcomed back, but it’s probably more about wages,
Think it said online it was location he preferredWages and location would be my bet.
Was thinking the same..if the club media don't use split screen countdown timer to announce his signing they will have missed a trickIt's going to end up a final 24 hour pursuit to get his signature, despite a terrorist attack blocking the M6
Hughes got a much higher ceiling than Doyle, I’d be very surprised if Wrexham make a profit on him.I know its all ifs and buts, but considering we were chucking 9 million quid at Hull for Hughes, Callum Doyle for 8 million is an absolute no brainer. We know how good he is, and he can also play LB

He can also play at left back where we have plenty of cover and also midfield.£3.5m on a backup?
Midfield? He can also play at left back where we have plenty of cover and also midfield.
Bassette will come good. Not sure what the issue is to freeze him out atmBoving? From what we see European youngster start to develop when they are 23/24 look at Viktor, so underrated at that age and it was when he came to us and filled out a bit he started to bloom. The thing is will Norman be the same? We he develop as time goes by and is this Boving any different from our Norman? Please don't say he scores goals because the championship is very different from European leagues, I'm sure if you placed Norman in the Austrian league he would score goals.
depends If they go out on loan and command a good fee down the line. The record isn’t particularly inspiring and it does concern me a bit if we start accumulating these prospects like toys.
With Doyle I’d imagine there’s unfavourable terms benefitting Man City. I.e a Low buyback. Teams like us are looking at players we can develop and sell for 20-25m. Not gonna do that if Man City can pick him back up for say 10m if we got promoted.
I’ve got a suspicion it’s the case if Wrexham get relegated
I don’t think they are either. But even then I’d be surprised there isn’t clauses like that in there.Wrexham are not getting relegated.
Broadhead is madness but spending the money they are on Doyle is fantastic businessTo be clear, it's nearly £20 million spent on Nathan Broadhead and Callum Doyle alone. If people want us to get involved in that sort of transfer business, fine, but it's madness.
He’s joined Wrexham just for enjoying a meal? A succulent American-Italian meal?Bad news that, he must have preferred the Frankie & Bennies they offered. Lessons to be learnt here Doug.
I wouldn’t like to see us sell Bobby Thomas. If we sell him and get another in, we still only have 2 recognised CB’s.Got to go all out for hughes now, if Bobby goes and we don’t get hughes we’ll probably look abroad for CB’s
What? We have Perry and BidwellI wouldn’t like to see us sell Bobby Thomas. If we sell him and get another in, we still only have 2 recognised CB’s.
If we sell Bobby Thomas for 8-10 million then that’s ridiculously good, we’ll have 2 lined upI wouldn’t like to see us sell Bobby Thomas. If we sell him and get another in, we still only have 2 recognised CB’s.
They have the Disney boys ploughing in money that we can't. If money were no object as it clearly is for them, different storyBroadhead is madness but spending the money they are on Doyle is fantastic business
