Hopefully they aren’t panic buys but rather well researched signingsAfter sleeping on it, I've decided I don't trust us to spend the Rudoni money wisely and not just make 4 Kitching-esque panic buys. So it's a no from me.
The thing that boggles my brain is that fans think it’s ok for Hull to sell Hughes to us but not ok for City to sell to other championship clubs.I think any rational fan expected us to sell at least 1 big hitter this summer to fund more signings but loosing Rudi to another champ club would be a reality check to where we sit in the food chain for some fans. It may come down to how confident the club feel they will get a decent price for MVE in the next few weeks, but what’s concerning is if saints sell Dibbling & Fernandes for a combined 80mill it’s perfectly logical they go big on Rudi, especially after Still’s comments about wanting championship experience.
No. No one values Armstrong at £8m -£10m.Would people except Adam Armstrong as a make weight in this. I.e Adam Armstrong + 10m.

They also think it’s logical for saints to sell one or two of their best players but illogical for us to do the same.
make it make sense …:
We had expected MVE to leave and brought in KKH on that basis. We will not have planned on Rudoni going this window and would be rushed into doing something.Hopefully they aren’t panic buys but rather well researched signings
Nobody has actually made those arguments but crack on.The thing that boggles my brain is that fans think it’s ok for Hull to sell Hughes to us but not ok for City to sell to other championship clubs.

Agreed !!We had expected MVE to leave and brought in KKH on that basis. We will not have planned on Rudoni going this window and would be rushed into doing something.
Considering that it would fuck up the season and help another team go up, it needs to be north of £30 million, and they will have that.
they may have that but being willing to spend it on one player is very differentWe had expected MVE to leave and brought in KKH on that basis. We will not have planned on Rudoni going this window and would be rushed into doing something.

We'd sell for a lot less than £30M.We had expected MVE to leave and brought in KKH on that basis. We will not have planned on Rudoni going this window and would be rushed into doing something.

We'll have a list of targets already, I'd imagine.I think we would definitely have contingency plans in place for Rudoni leaving, whether we want/expect it to happen or not, it would be pretty negligent not to.
We'd sell for a lot less than £30M.
If they aren’t they can move on to other targets. It wouldn’t be tricky to placate Rudoni missing out on a move to Southampton in the same way it would be if a Prem club came in and we played silly buggers.they may have that but being willing to spend it on one player is very different
We may well do, I don’t think we should. We'd sell for a lot less than £30M.
if you say soWe'd sell for a lot less than £30M.

£25 million plus ArmstrongWould people except Adam Armstrong as a make weight in this. I.e Adam Armstrong + 10m.
or 24 without£25 million plus Armstrong
We may have done some scouting and analysis, but will not have the groundwork for deals in place as we have for KKH.I think we would definitely have contingency plans in place for Rudoni leaving, whether we want/expect it to happen or not, it would be pretty negligent not to.
If £15m were the asking price he’d be there already. No championship club should be able to afford the fee that rudoni is worth.
If it’s true we’re asking for £15m then there has to be a financial reason and I won’t be happy.
I think it’s all noise though and expect him here past the window.
Correct, if they can be asking silly money for their players, we do the same and hold out for as much as possible. £30m seems fair to me in today’s marketWe may well do, I don’t think we should.
£30-40 million is cloud cuckoo land, I’m sorry. Go and look at some of the other players who’ve moved for that kind of money this summer.Given that Southampton think they can request stupid fees for Championship players, I don’t know why people seem happy to let him go for £15-20 million. There’s improvements needed all over the defence, on the wings, more dynamism needed in the middle and upgrades on BTA and Bassette required all on top of you then having to replace Rudoni.
£20 million doesn’t cut it. Bare minimum £30 million, add an extra £5-10 million club in the same league tax on top.
no actual journalist has said thisNo championship club should be able to afford the fee that rudoni is worth.

It’s odd that we seem to want £15m for MvE and £15m for Rudi after we had a cash injection of £15m in the summer and haven’t spent it.If £15m were the asking price he’d be there already.
I really don’t think it’s unreasonable or unrealistic, he’s that good and that important.Correct, if they can be asking silly money for their players, we do the same and hold out for as much as possible. £30m seems fair to me in today’s market

A conspiracy theorist could draw their own conclusions.
Because £15-20 million will not do that and no, it’s not ridiculous considering his nationality, ability and contract situation. Southampton want even more for some of their players.£30-40 million is cloud cuckoo land, I’m sorry. Go and look at some of the other players who’ve moved for that kind of money this summer.
The only reason to keep him in light of a ridiculous bid is if you’re convinced that this is our season to go up. But if you think the current team is in such decrepit shape, why would you turn down silly money for a player that could help rebuild it?
Hamer wasn’t replaced, we spunked a load of money on Kitching instead while signing a child on loan from Brighton. He still hasn’t really been replaced even now.
Hamer was at least getting a season in the top flight to be clear.
His attributes certainly haven’t, there is no box to box midfielder in the squad. This is a rather rudimentary view on player recruitment. His place in the squad has 100% been filled. By Grimes and Torp take your pick. They aren't the same type of player no, but that's a recruitment choice based on style. So he has been replaced.
