Where is your concrete evidence that we are not ?? Oh wait there isn’t any.

what we do have is concrete evidence that we had been talking to our 3 signings this summer for months before we landed them.

So you think we are talking to £30m worth of signings, even though we clearly dont expect Rudoni to go.

Clueless.

Not exactly strengthened have we, keeper was a forced signing, we’ve swapped a very good RB for hopefully the same level and not sure about the new LB, kicking off the season with the same team that came up short last season ?

I just refuse to believe that Lampard is happy with our central forward options.

I'd be happy finishing 5th again

We haven't at all.

KKH is a good signing, but one we need to make as clearly its expected MVE will leave.

We lacked dynamism going forward last year and the ability to unlock a defence and we haven't addressed it at all.

Except for the fact that Lampard will be in charge from day 1 this season. This is huge IMHO.

I think anyone who says they are 'happy' is lying as we all basically hoped we'd have improved what was already a good team with maybe 2/3 quality starters and a couple of better standard squaddies. Not being able to offload anyone until late into the window really hasn't helped and we still have time to do that and i remain hopeful. Again, doing it after the season started is far from ideal though.

It's absolutely mental that Lampard didn't give Simms a single SECOND on the pitch during the play offs, and that he's still here. There are only two explanations, 1) he was injured during the play offs but then why on the bench. 2) We're actively trying to ship him out and no one wants him

It would be a most welcome first game of the season with an Ellis Simms goal, just like saturday

The club will have sat down at the end of last season and identified the positions we know we need to the players who are likely to be targets for bigger clubs and therefore we may need to replace.

KKH is evidence of that at RB and the club will know already 2-3 names for the Rudi role should he move on.

This is how every club operates. Im amazed you don’t know this.

Yes but the point you are missing is, if he goes the end of this week then we are into the last two weeks of the window and therefore will need to pay overinflated fees to get players.

Don’t be so condescending to say you’re amazed you don’t know this as if you are some football running oracle.

At the end of this week we will have 3 weeks still to go. Plenty of time.

I’m not being condescending I’m simply stating what we all
Know to be the at football recruitment is ran.

People said almost exactly the same about Hamer departing, we completely bungled the replacement and it derailed the season. There is no need to sell Rudoni barring a ludicrous offer.

Desperately needed a CB and ST going into this window and looks like we are not close to getting either atm.

Have to say to have spent around £15m on the four strikers we have got and probably only one is good enough is not a great look.

Yes exactly. He is being very condescending about the "way a football club is ran" yet the last key player we lost we completely fucked up replacing.

We’re getting worked up over nothing here peeps.

The link doesn’t even mention them putting a bid in just doing further scouting.

I do want signings but worth pointing out, under Lampard we had the fourth best form in the league with these players.

If Rudoni is sold and not replaced, then we should kick off but not before we’ve had a bid.

If it was me and it’s clearly not and that’s good for the club.

Id focus on a Permanent CB first. While strikers were struggling at the end, think Haji being fit will be a big plus.

RW loan/Perm depends on if you think Rapha can step up in the future. If so you might be more tempted to loan someone like Rak Sai from palace and if you don’t get promoted re-evaluate Rapha in the summer
Agree CB is priority and I would hope now Binks has been moved on for a decent fee we have irons in the fire.

I think trusting Rapha to be the 3rd/4th choice winger is a massive risk. We need somebody to push Tatts and offer an alternative. We also know he is bound to get a few knocks considering the lack of protection he gets from referees. I think a loan with obligation to buy (similar to what Ipswich did with Hutchinson) would make sense - as you say, Rak Sakiy would be the dream signing for that position but I can't see us matching what Palace were reportedly asking for from Rangers.

It wouldn't surprise me if we make a couple of big loan signings in the final week of the window when clubs realise they are not going to get the transfer fees they are currently asking for so maybe a Rak Sakiy & Doyle for instance become possible.

People will say it’s “bedwetting” but it’s clear we’ve not improved the team since last season and there’s only a few weeks left of the window. You can assume KKH is a replacement for Van Ewijk, Brau is yet to prove he’s an upgrade on Dasilva and Rushworth is a temporary fix for the loss of Dovin.

We’re not in an awful position as a functioning squad but nothing about our recruitment this window has so far screamed “promotion”.

He'll clearly be on the radar of a few clubs but with 3 years to go on his contract, it'll take something ridiculous to be considered.

Hamer still hasn't been replaced and he left 2 years ago, it's not that straightforward.

I do get the concern

Have we majorly improved, no? I think everyone can see that. Is the squad better than the one that ended the season? Yes simply because we have a keeper in goal instead of Collins or Wilson.

But we do have consistency in the manager and players. Kept (so far) Rudoni and Wright.

Think Wright will have a big season for us considering the World Cup in the summer, he has a lot to prove

I think that’s fair, we’re not in a bad position, I’m not scared for the season, it’s just that I don’t have supreme confidence that we’ll make the playoffs, we probably will do but I’m not certain of it. I think just 2 quality signings in the form of a CF and CB would really make a big difference this season.

Personally, I am quite relaxed about it all. We’ll see where we are at under a full pre season under Lampard relatively quickly.

And I can tell you wholeheartedly that come Saturday, I will be as “happy” as I have ever been turning up that stadium in any season since we have been playing there.

Not fussed if you think I am lying.

Just to point out to those who say we haven’t strengthened. As things stand we’ve signed Rushworth, Brau and KKH. We’ve lost Binks. No need to panic.

My guess is that this summer BTA, Simms, Binks, Lati, Bidwell, Eccles, Allen, Collins and Milan were all made available for transfer this window but only Binks and Milan had takers. Would imagine Frank isn't to bothered either way about whether the players left or stayed, both options have there benefits and drawbacks.

Again wouldn't be surprised if they were still moved on as we move through the window.

Having a settled team is all well and good and other teams signings may take time to gel. My concern is with having the same team pretty much, our opposition know exactly how we will play and how to stop us. Really hope we get a couple in to mix things up a bit and make us hopefully less predictable
