Everton have over half their squad out of contract this summer, many of which Frank will have worked with in the past …..

I'm hoping Andrew Driver comes off. I know we've been interested in him in a while now

Said this in another thread - if we go up. Mason Mount will be our major signing on loan…

More importantly, who will be the loan to cover his season-long injury?

Get Hamer back after we beat the blades in the final

Doyle back aswell

I’m sure Frank has connections at Everton and Chelsea to get a few loans in too

Becoming a referee at least that’s what he said when he spoke at the CBS earlier in the season.

5x signings needed if we don't get promoted - GK, LB, CB, RB, RW
7x signings if we get promoted - same as above plus CM, ST

Does not include any replacement for any first-team player who leaves (Sheaf/MvE)

I think a key thing this year regardless of what league we’re in will be growing the squad again, whilst injuries are inevitable, over the last few months we’ve seen the damage they’ve done to our squad depth.
Frank has spoken about it being a small squad, there’s definitely room for another forward option, right winger, left winger, right back, left back, centre back.
Funnily enough centre midfield is now where i feel most comfortable with Grimes, Sheaf, Allen, Torp, Eccles, Rudoni

Its going to be an interesting summer whatever league we’re in, i wonder what the Frank effect will have on some of the current players we tout to leave like Sheaf, maybe MvE and what effect it will have on the quality of people we bring in.

Its also been good to see the development of some players since he’s come in, Da Silva, Torp, Rudoni, EMC all come along this season, or latter part of the season, be keen to see if anyone else *cough* Raphael *cough* could be a factor next year

Hopefully we go in for Adebayo. Matondo and Thomas would be brilliant too.

Adebayo a big risk, just done his ACL and only turns up for one season in two.

If we win promotion then I wouldn't spend any money on a Championship player , Doyle would be on the list but he's got the potential to get to the top of the game. Is Hamer a better option than Rudi when we are going to need mobile midfielders with bite that are box to box. The value comes from Scandinavia and the European leagues I just don't think, taking the two auto promoted teams aside, that there is any real quality in the remaining teams that shouts out Prem standard. Hard to admit it but the standard of our league may have dropped a little.

We're two players off (RB, RW) having two first-team players in every position. Don't think we can make the squad too much bigger without having more players who basically have no minutes

Guess the debate is whether there is enough quality in our back-up options

Ben Doak from Liverpool on loan, looked like best player in the league at boro before he got injured. Probably have to be in the prem to get him.

Nah not true, there are some but you have to be smart with it. Happy if we pick up 2 or 3 but just building a 'Championship super team' isn't enough (see Ipswich) and you do indeed need to shop about and perhaps take a few risks from abroad that may or may not come off.

I think the quality of the backup is pretty poor which means we can't rotate is the real problem. If MvE or Thomas has a niggle you're more likely to push them through when there's no backup or it's Latibeadiere or Binks. Similarly BTA isn't really up to starting up top on his own.

When you get down to it, considering the injury issues the likes of EMC and Sheaf seem to have, and the quality of the likes of Allen, Eccles, Lats, Bidwell, BTA. We basically have a first XI and maybe one or two who can rotate in.

yeah, you can't really go about spending 20 million quid a pop on people like Philogene and Jack Clarke

We need a left sided version of Milan, someone with real pace, that would me my priority.

There are a few shrewd signings we could make if we were to go up.

Campbell from Sheff U would be one. Knows the dark arts and certainly an upgrade on Simms

Liam Walsh ran the game against Luton and would pair well with Rudoni.

someone like Giles could be available for a cut price fee and has premier league experience

finally Matty James could come in as a player coach and be used when we need to rest grimes against the smaller teams

I reckon Charlie Wakefield might be a good understudy for Saka, he knows Adie V Lampard, Da Silva and Collins probably n all

We may be going into know-mans-land in a couple of weeks and even with promotion we may lose a few 'favs' but our market for potential new players will be a lot higher than we ever anticipated. Doyle would be good if we were not successful but he is not Premier class, as many of our squad aren't. I do not envisage wholesale changes but if our ambition for next season, if promoted, was to stay up then we would need an additional 7 or 8 'experienced' players. Being a big fish in a small pond is very different from being a minnow in a sea. I still have my reservations for us to go up because, if we do, one year later our feeling could be very different, look at Luton's nose dive. We have experienced many highs over the last few years, are we ready to go back to being failures?

In this league, an MVE clone at LB, a CB with pace, cover at RB and competition at RW are the priorities from my POV.

If someone wants Simms and Asante and pays what we paid, I'd be ok with both leaving and getting one upgrade.

Leaves Wright, EMC, new striker, Bassette, Sakamoto and new RW which should be enough cover and quality.

Assume Bidwell or Dasilva will leave along with one of Latibeaudiere and Binks. Raphael, f*ck knows! Bloke is a rumour.

Edit: if Sheaf goes, I'd love Finn Azaz or I could see the argument for Kyprianou as a more like for like replacement.

Reliably informed that Aasgaard at Luton has an active relegation release clause.

Who's leaving then if we fail to go up?

MvE looks ready for a step up sadly. We are going to have to work hard to back fill his spot. Would 100% get two RB in as he had no cover as it is.

Also have a nagging feeling that Wright (Agent) might angle for a pre home WC move to get him more exposure. Personally I think he'd be better served sticking here and building on what he has, he took ages to settle and that might screw his chances of a WC squad spot.

Sheaf? Might not be in such a hurry to leave now. I suppose it depends on if we want to keep hold

Rudi will stick around under Lampard, his value is rising no need to cash in yet.

Collins, just got to shift at any price.

Other than that I can't see much more movement out unless we can cash in on some of the fringe players or get our money back for a few of the l as consistent players

He's going to cost a bit if we want him - he's under contract with a baller league team

I've been watching the ballers league, a few decent players there. A few who I think could be good squad players for us.
