Very good signing but a loan.

Was pointing out that we sold a player that the vast majority said wasn't good enough and added just 1m for a player that will be straight into our 1st team. As in that's what you can do when you take your time unlike other clubs. Suppose I should have been a bit clearer

I think what hurts us most with EMC is his inability to play on the right. He looks a totally different player on that side. This affects our ability to be flexible with subs and means that Wright has to play CF. Have we ever seen Wright on the right? I wonder why he can’t play there.

Same for Sakamoto… are all our wingers incapable of swapping sides?

Good point.
And I think we have played Wright on the right (under Robins) and it didn't work.

He was so shit for Derby that day.
Mo was bought for the top division and couldn't get in the team.
Brilliant song unfortunately doesn't make a brilliant player. See also Gary Breen.

Look at who wasn't in the side tonight. Either protecting from injury, already injured or just plain shite.

Was asked about a striker and said he won’t get drawn upon a particular position…

Wouldn't think so. Wright is back from injury in about 2 weeks. Then he will be a long way away from match fitness.

We have a very good chance of promotion this season. We can't afford a slow start. The one position we're lacking is a striker. The problem is it's the hardest position to fill.

Wright is injury prone and we won’t get a season out of him. We need a quality signing up front.

I doubt there is anyone that close else I think we’d have heard something in the press. All our signings so far were rumoured well in advance.

Got a bad injury and didn't seem to fully recover from it. Doesn't mean that he is injury prone.

One second Binks was our player. The next he was gone.

He didn’t recover fully from his initial injury to only get a new injury with US. Not having a proper pre season. Annoying really but we can’t hope he’s the answer this season. We do need another top striker.

That was an outgoing. Brau was first linked about a month before he signed, same for Kessler-Hayden. Rushworth was first reported at least a week in advance if not more.

We're keeping quiet about signings. It's the other sides letting the cat out the bag so far.

Emc is even more predictable that Tats he has to bring it inside every time tonight he had chance with his left foot to bang it over and cut back

I know it would be a step up but I would be happy if we replaced one with Kone - young and uses his physicality. Good scoring record too.

I doubt we can afford to. We spend approx. £20m on our current strikeforce. We can't really expect any incomings in that department unless someone is moved on.

Absolutely no reason why he couldn't play on the right IMO. He had a few so-so games there when he first came to the club if I remember correctly, and some on here slagged off his performances, but he was finding his feet at a new club and at a level he hadn't played before. Cutting him a bit of slack you could see he was a quality player, but people seem to jump to an early judgement and never let it go.

surely during a game you'd expect him and Tats to swap over, just to cross it on their proper foot??

Definitely feel like we need to sign at least a couple more players to solidify a top 6 finish. I can’t say I’d be massively confident of promotion with the current state of the striker or defender situation. Yes we’ve signed Brau and KKH, and that’s great if MVE stays but I doubt that’ll happen tbh.

As for Rushworth, he seems like a brilliant loan signing but it doesn’t really change much compared to last season when we also had a fully fit decent keeper in Dovin. Having a quality keeper is brilliant but we really need to strengthen our CB department to make sure we’re not relying on Rushworth in the first place. Hopefully MVE either goes now or doesn’t go at all, rather than waiting until right at the death when we’ve got no chance to use the money created from his sale.

Yeah, an occasional reversion to the traditional deployment of wingers might shake things up a bit

We’re about where we were last season at the moment. Seems the rumours about Doug’s money drying up were true. Doubt we’ll see anything without MvE or Wright leaving. And wouldn’t be surprised if either happens too late to do anything.

Stronger midfield, more experienced goalkeeper. Two good right backs. We're ahead of where we were this time last season. We've also got the improvement in some players over 12 months too.
