Would be a lot wouldn’t it. Would have thought 10-12 with add ons would be the goal. Might lower it next year when he’s out of contract the following summer

I think that will be the goal but we’d end up selling for less if nobody comes in, especially now with KKH.

Yeah probably although I’d wait a year and have them both sides of the CB unless they’ve gave the above amount

Think the big big money for the club will be Rudoni

Absolutely nothing unfortunately. Haven't for a few days now.

Get topic back on track though, anything on the Belgian striker? There's stuff going round online saying we have agreed a £5.5 million transfer for him.

If that’s the price we should have got Kvistgaarden instead who’s going to Norwich for a bit more. Believe it’s somewhere between £8-12m but haven’t seen what the final number is landing as.
If it’s £8m then Kvistgaarden all day long

By Belgian striker, are we talking Adriano Bertaccini?

Thought a while ago we’d get about £8m for MvE. I think we saw in Jan no one was willing to go to £10m.

One thing that I think is absolutely WILD is that we haven’t had our end of season awards ceremony.
People have now left the club, new people have arrived so it would be weird to do it now.
In my opinion, I feel the awards hold weight in the transfer market, like KKH’s did.
Let’s say MVE won an award, it would attract a bit more attention/value.

Very odd that we have started pre season for the next season and still not done the award night from the season prior

Let’s just do it in house when we land in Portugal imo.

I think ultimately what bothers me most on this forum, and its not aimed at you but I've seen a lot of it recently, is people fawning over other business and doing ours down. I know Kvistgaarden is popular on here but on the face of it, Bertaccini is 1 year older and has a similar goal record last season in a far better league. He's also cheaper so if we can get it done it could end up being a very smart move.
We also constantly have people stating Brau has a big step up while jacking it to signings from Bundesliga 2. It may be trendy with Championship fans but German and Spanish second divisions are rated exactly the same by Opta.

Basically I've seen it all before, last time Birminghams business was hammed up so much on here they got relegated. Stoke have been a poster boy a couple of summers on here and they are total shite and have about 2 players I'd take. Norwich... who gives a fuck, we can't sign all the players, others clubs will make good signings.
Let's just see what we do, I fancy we'll be satisfied at the end of it and I currently wouldn't switch our squad for any of the above.

I’m just happy to get an expensive striker to be honest. Still remember when our marquee signing was Cody McDonald

Calm down - it's not that WILD - who is actually bothered on here about seeing who won what? We don't all go to the end of season awards anyway plus they don't get any attention whatsoever outside of the club itself - no other club would care

Bidwell will stick in as long as he can but if Brau settles quickly Bidwell will be 4th of 5th in the pecking order. Bidwell seems a very good pro and will have a decent attitude to work hard. But this window or Jan i can see him being moved on, as i can Binks.
One of the reasons I'm annoyed that both Hollywood clubs came up is because I could see us being able to offload Bidwell onto a promoted club like Stockport or Wycombe for a small fee. Very experienced at this level, model professional, still solid just not quite good enough for top end of the table.

We only got an expensive striker in a couple of seasons ago (Wright)

What relevance is the fact it was a free transfer? We still failed to keep him?

If MVE stays then we’ve just blown 4m on a back up right back, which is probably worse than him leaving. More delusion.

I’m so glad King turned up because Sisu would have sold Gyokeres and Hamer in the same window. They wouldn’t have even replaced Hamer in the window… oh wait

Which is why it would be amazing to get another one. I probably worded that wrong but I meant I’d be excited to get anyone of quality not wanting to spend more on someone else

January is a limited opportunity, there's not a lot of wheeling and dealing to be done and the games come thick and fast.
You've got a better chance of getting 10 million now when there's more time to construct a deal and move other players on to bring in the necessary funds.
And more time to hawk players around to create an auction.

(Although we'd probably accept £8m if it was offered, especially with us securing the replacement)

I think there is a scenario where MVE stays at the club this summer. Obviously there is a lot of interest in him, but the club aren’t under pressure to sell MVE.

Would be interesting to see from FL’s perspective that should the window close and we still have MVE, how would Lampard fit both into his system. We’ve seen MVE can play further forward and KKH can play on the left too.

One last push to see if the club can win the playoffs or better. Nothing to lose, everything to gain and if it doesn't come off then a new contract somewhere to see out his 20's.

We seemed to care that KKH won all of Preston’s awards.

It would hold ‘some’ weight in a transfer value

Not really but the only likely scenario is an injury to Kitch or Binks while the team is playing 3 at the back.

January and the summer are totally different markets from a valuation perspective ….

I also think MCE was better post Xmas than pre Xmas.

Totally agree and I think going into this season with the squad and the management team, all the stuff off the field, etc, we have never been in a better position to give this a real go.

Lampard sees Wright more as a striker and not as a winger

I wonder if he does or whether it's just that he saw him as our best option at CF given that Simms, BTA and Bassette weren't exactly banging the goals in for fun and (when fit) EMC is a good option at LW.

If rumours are to be believed Wright wants to play as a striker and with EMC fit I think Lampard wanted him too as well.

Is there any indication that Lampard sees that as a preferred formation?
I think the signing of Grimes will see us play 4 at the back for the most part

I'm happy to give Wright a run as CF with EMC on the left.

I have often wondered if EMC could play as CF, given that little purple scoring patch he had. It's probably not his best position but I would be prepared to give it a go if (a) we don't get another striker in (though I'm sure we will) and (b) Wright gets injured. I would have thought he can't do any worse than Simms.

Wouldn’t be that disappointed if we didn’t do anything else, maybe another centre half as cover, but we’ve filled what we needed, cover for MVE and a left back, we scored enough last season, just conceded too many, we look better already, wouldn’t be far off again with the current squad

“We”, as in fans, cared.
It seems that most clubs are much more data driven these days, so I think the weight would be pretty minimal.

I only found out he'd won the awards after he'd signed for us so it didn't have any impact whatsoever
