We are talking about a nominal fee, likely far less than the cost of his wages if we then couldn't offload him. We wouldn't have triggered that extension unless we wanted him to stay and play.

Is that because an offer was made after the event rather than something that was planned?

It's everyone's job to score goals, that's the logic of the game.

Hard to say it's the goallies 'job' - better if he concentrates on stopping goals...

We love players who out the mid into midfield though. Only got about four at the moment so room for a couple more.

Well we can finally stop the "why don't we just go for Adem Zorgane" talk. Off to USG for €5m.

Obviously not that good if nobody’s picked him up and he’s stayed in the Belgian league

Cheaper than Lewis O’Brien… an absolute steal at that price.

They had the French football expert on Talk sport who said they couldn't stop them from entering the Europa League as they qualified for it. Time will tell as they have appealed the decision too relegate them. Same bloke owns them who had shares in Palace and just sold them.

They are 400 million in debt.

Chakvetadze is open to leaving Watford, it says hes willing to even stay in the championship, read 4-5 million would be enough to get him, I'd forget spending that on O'Brien and be all over getting Chakvetadze in, absolutely quality player

He’s going to be well sought after for certain. I work with a few Watford fans who obviously love him to bits but do say he just doesn’t score anywhere like enough goals for a player of his quality. I’d still have him here for certain though

He might in our team though. They said the same about rudoni.

I would snap him up in a heart beat if he was open to leave.

Can play CM and AM too I think plus out on the wing, covers many positions but he doesn't have to score shed loads mate chip in with a few and create chances, sort of statement signing we should make and woukd be unreal under Lampards guidance

Read premier sides in for him. No chance he stays in the championship if he moves. Watford would rather send him to Udinese first

I’d take him in a heartbeat at that price but I really can’t see 4/5m being anywhere near enough.

He’s on a long term contract and not long ago they were talking about getting £20m for him

Yeah I was a little taken aback when it said 4-5 million, he's definitely worth alot more in my view but I mean if that's actually true and if we got him for that price it'd be the bargain of this summer for sure

His output no where near enough for positions he gets into. Which suspect may stop PL team going in for him.

reminds me of COH in many ways, how he takes and carries and lack of end product.

type of player we need however, something different.

He’s a great player, but he mostly plays at AM and LW, where we already have our solutions.

Yeah for the positions he's gets into he should be scoring alot more, if he did he'd of gone ages ago, but when Rudi came to us the Huddersfields fans said he has no end product, Lampard came in and he now has that end product, I feel he'd have the same affect on Chaka Khan if he signed of course. But a player of his calibre would make us stronger

USG are the smartest team in Belgium, if they’ve bought him for 5m it means they think they can sell him for 15-20m in two years.

Imagine getting this for £5m.

Hypothetically if he ever were to sign Id love to see him in between Sheaf and Rudoni. His main attribute is his ball carrying so I think he’d fit the 8 role well.

Of course it is never going to happen anyway, especially as Champions League winners Birmingham City are interested and no one can compete with them.

Amazing stats tbf.

Since the CM role also has to chip in defensively, is he good for tackling and intercepting?

I’ve never really paid that much attention to that side of his game in fairness. I don’t have any stats on that but I would imagine he’s fairly decent.

When we’ve played them before I have always just noticed how he absolutely runs the game and is the best player on the pitch.
