So the one that sacked him. Ok Frank, sure we will do you a favour is hardly likely.

He was caretaker manager until the end of the season after which he left when his contract ended. Not really a sacking.

Personal relationships will help of course but really this comes down to the club being the most attractive option for the player and then being able to offer Chelsea enough money. I think we actually could do the latter but I don’t think we are the former.

The only thing I think we’ve got going for us is if playing time is a worry surely he’ll get more guarantees here than anywhere else.

Frank will still have long standing contacts at the club. If Boehly sees a player going to Coventry as a positive for Chelsea FC then yes it's likely

With promotion more of a probability than possibility there would also be assurances over him getting playing time in the top flight next season, but if a current PL team also offers that we understandably have no chance.

I don’t think we will be giving any targets guarantees. See Woolfenden and KKH as evidence of that.

Depends where they are.

Join a side that's a relegation candidate or join a side going up that's been breaking records along the way. Help them to be even stronger. Have 6 months of getting used to the other players before the serious stuff starts. Playing for an ex world class player that will help you improve and knows the set up he is playing in.

He is young but very promising. Needs game time. We're the perfect fit for him. Comes down to best career move or best money offered.

The named clubs were Palace and Fulham. If either really want him he isn’t coming here.

Any side looking like staying up would look a better offer.

But he has his whole career ahead of him. He will know all about Lampard. He knows he would play with us. If we could offer a similar wage?

Palace look good for European football next season. I just can’t see this one happening really.

If we got it done, it’s one hell of a coup.

Two goals (so far) for Patrick Bamford against Wrexham, think we missed a trick there.

He`s like Calvert Lewin, he`ll have a purple patch every now and again, then invariably break and be out for ages.

Rinse and repeat.

I see what you mean. I do think the backup would’ve been useful, hopefully we can add to that position in Jan.

Unless we’ve got something else planned, he’d have been a decent signing until the end of the season.

I dont think we will be short of agents offering players to us in Jan. Cant wait to see how Doug approaches the next few weeks, will be a big tell on what we are planning for.

It’s either this or the club felt as if the Bamford signing was unnecessary given who we have.

I don’t think he’s shit. I think the club just have more of a plan than we will know, and Bamford was never going to be part of that plan.

yeah, nobody is talking about us needing a striker when it comes to who they’d like to see us buy in Jan. Bamfords a very good player but some need to let it go

I personally still would like a striker in Jan, as well as a CM who can also cover in the 10 and a winger who operates both sides.

Thing is January is extremely tricky to do business in so unless it’s a loan, it will be difficult to get a striker with a proven record without paying big money.

Chelsea loan star lined up for January transfer as sale stance emerges

Chelsea youngster Leo Castledine has been one of League One's top players since joining Huddersfield Town on loan and could now move up a level in the January transfer window
www.mirror.co.uk

Seems Chelsea are keen to sell him

Don’t really mind missing out on Bamford, if he helps Sheff Utd take points off the teams chasing us (Boro, Ipswich) and doesn’t score against us, overall net positive
