They are in part tired because Frank likes a settled team and doesn’t rotate as much as some managers. Milan is never tested for KKH, the same for Thomas and Kitch for Woolf / Lati. Grimes plays almost every minute of every match when Allen comes on it is normally for Torp.

It’s not a criticism of Frank, it’s serving us brilliantly, but it’s not all because our squad is smaller or we don’t have players to utilise.

The quality drop is too far for all of those. KKH and Woolf should be OK but their showings so far haven’t shown that. We have zero depth on the wings which are the most explosive positions on the pitch and it’s meant things like shoving Rudi or KKH out there. It’s one thing backs to the wall for half an hour with a 531 but most of those can’t be trusted to hold a game that’s finely balanced or get us back into a game. All our cover is in positions we don’t really need to rest due to running less other than KKH really. It’s all DM and CB.

Weve also very clearly rushed Rudi back and are playing others beyond what they should be and that will bite us later in the season. The attitude from some on here is as long as we have 11 on the pitch then everything is fine.

I haven't read the entire thread, but is anyone arguing we don't need more options out wide?

Think he said we should bring in a winger, but is allergic to strengthening any other position

2 players will be the minimum. Reckon we'll be trying for 3.

It hasn’t helped that Haji has missed about 2.5 xG in chances since his last goal. I’m sure it was about 7-7.5 xG when he was on 8 goals and now he’s on 9.68 xG.

Even yesterday, our best chance wouldn’t have come up on the stat sheet because Haji was on 1v1 and his heavy touch meant he didn’t even get a shot off.

Two quality additions would be enough I think. Wouldn't say no to a 3rd.

RW is an absolute must, who can also play on the left to give us more options. Then another CM.

Saints signed him for £8m in the summer, IMO they don’t sell him in January as they need to keep him and others to push to get back to the PL, if there’s any chance of them doing so at all, players like Scienza will be key for them.

If Saints don’t get out of the Championship this season I think they could have a real battle on their hands to keep Scienza in the summer.

I gather they bought a few players at £8 million or over. Compared with our recruitment, looks like we have spent more wisely, although I get it Prem clubs are charged double.

I don't know what to make of Haji,he's either brilliant or meh, unfortunately for me, to many times meh, but having said that, he'll still score at least 15

I'm not sure whether it would be good to bring Hamer back or not and I'm happy to trust FL's judgement on that. That said I just don't see Sheff U selling him back to us.

Nevertheless, while it seems as if Hamer likes a beer and the odd kebab, there is nothing to suggest he does not train to the highest standards. He is a box to box dynamic player, and you cannot be that if you don't train properly. Some players metabolisms allow them more leeway than others, and perhaps Hamer is one of those able to push it more than others. For example to the extremes compare and contrast Bryan Robson and Darren Anderton! Closer to home Sheaf was one of those players that would not play at the whiff of a niggling injury whereas I always felt Hamer would play through a minor injury. There is little doubt which player is more inspirational to team mates.
I think you are being unfair to Sheaf. Some players suddenly become injury prone at times during their career and I believe Sheaf falls into that category. Gareth Bale is a classic example of a player where his injury problems were predicted early in his career, due to an unusual running style.
It is a shame, because a fully fit Sheaf was a great player, which is why Prem teams were looking at him. Think we sold Sheaf because of his propensity for sustaining injuries, not because he was somehow refusing to play with niggles.
In the modern game, there are well qualified medical professionals that make decisions based on player wellbeing and the long-term benefit to the team. Gone are the days of give him a cortisone injection and roll him out on the pitch. Players often play at less than 100% fitness, but not to the detriment of their health.

It wasn't serious, he'll be on astronomical wages and wouldn't come here. Next season if we went up wouldn't be a bad shout with Chelsea connections, did he play under Lampard?

His loan was a season long loan to Huddersfield so there might not be a recall option, just like Rushworth with us.

We're entering 'silly season' where stories and rumours flow around more than Santa's sherry, however, I am saddened by certain CCFC fans and sites openly trying to spread fake rumours around about players wanting to leave and/or unrest in the camp. People really need to get a life.

I was looking for young strikers with value < £20m and came across Semih Kılıçsoy.

That would be a marquee signing, his reel looks a bit like Vik, in the sense that he doesn't get knocked off the ball. Edit: looks like Calgari have a buy option. Shame.

He should of had 2 pens in that time though.
And did get a player sent off against Preston, he also has a goal chalked off when EMC was given offside, and hes come up against goalkeepers who have played out of their skin.
He is in a dry spell, but hes has no luck either.

I’ll defend Wright because on his day he’s a top striker in this division but believe it was a mistake putting him back in for Simms right away. Whilst what you say is absolutely true, on an individual level, his finishing has been subpar in this stretch of games.
