We are not going to rotate Grimes out of the side at this stage of the season, and especially not just because we're worried he might get injured. If Grimes were out injured for a few weeks, we’d be totally screwed. We do need someone in to share the workload, ideally who can run a game, that doesn’t include Torp, Eccles or Rudoni. Doug has to see this is the best chance in 25 years to return to the Prem, surely he can’t pennypinch now.
A lot of deals don't happen until late in the window, its normal. Better to wait a couple of games and land a decent target than rush in a dud.You do know we have games before the window closes?
i’m glad you have more faith than me. This gives me total déjà vu of the summerA lot of deals don't happen until late in the window, its normal. Better to wait a couple of games and land a decent target than rush in a dud.
yeah our form was shite after summer recruitment failure this seasoni’m glad you have more faith than me. This gives me total déjà vu of the summer
I think we'd be stupid not to given where we are, so I'm assuming we're going to. I will be annoyed if we don't though, think it would be a huge error.i’m glad you have more faith than me. This gives me total déjà vu of the summer
That summer window really fucked us over huhi’m glad you have more faith than me. This gives me total déjà vu of the summer
THISThat summer window really fucked us over huh
why are you replying to me on 2 accountsyeah our form was shite after summer recruitment failure this season
i mean we are doing very well, but the lack of depth cost us points in December and Jan, that can’t be disputedTHIS
What's the evidence that they do - newspaper/ITK rumours? Anything more concrete than that?
I don't think the club share the view that if we don't get someone in then we're doomed to miss out on promotion
Quite telling that you seem to be suggesting that any and all points dropped can be explained away and/or prevented by just signing more players. Top analysisi mean we are doing very well, but the lack of depth cost us points in December and Jan, that can’t be disputed

I asked you to show your working, not throw your toys out the pram.OK we’re doing this. Clearly the club are after a CM unless you’re one of those “the only thing real is CCFC.co.uk” types.
We’ve already had one user aggressively soil themselves trying to prove this theory, I don’t want you to embarrass yourself tooSwitch back to your other account
And the great work in recruitment got us clear at the top so we could have a dipi mean we are doing very well, but the lack of depth cost us points in December and Jan, that can’t be disputed
Do you think it’s unreasonable to want a CM in spending the Sheaf money and let Andrews go out on loan? And the great work in recruitment got us clear at the top so we could have a dip
The festive hectic season is gonna. We have added bodies. It's another good window it seems. We might want another one in but I'm not sure it's a need.
All clubs would like to have perfect windows every time but I doubt hardly any have them even the big clubs.
We should be incredibly happy with our club right now
How am I trolling David, nice of you to put an argument forward.Days without trolling: 0
Partly because we're low payers so they often have to be persuaded. What I find difficult to comprehend is why it seems to take us so long to get some of the players we want in. We can only speculate
No it's not unreasonable to want one inDo you think it’s unreasonable to want a CM in spending the Sheaf money and let Andrews go out on loan?
We will have to agree to disagree. No it's not unreasonable to want one in
But it is unreasonable to be angry if we don't bring one in imo
It's like a kid who gets 9 safari animal toys but then gets angry he didn't get the 10th gazelle or something. It's still enough to play safari! (My kids going through a phase)
Pretty insane climbdown here, honestly didn’t think you’d cave this fastWe will have to agree to disagree.
I just don’t want Torp to get injured like he likely will, Rudoni to miss some games and we are then going into important games in April with not much cover.
Don’t even want to think about if Grimes gets injured
The one embarrassing themselves is youWe’ve already had one user aggressively soil themselves trying to prove this theory, I don’t want you to embarrass yourself too
How is that a climb down. I want a CM in, my point hasn’t changed.Pretty insane climbdown here, honestly didn’t think you’d cave this fast
He really is.The one embarrassing themselves is you
We're not after average Championship players. We're after players that are top Championship/lower Prem. This will mean a lot of the time they will want a replacement in before letting the player go. We had to wait for Palace to spend 35m on a replacement for Esse before we could sign him. What I find difficult to comprehend is why it seems to take us so long to get some of the players we want in. We can only speculate
The vitriol that this one opinion of mine inspires is really quite somethingThe one embarrassing themselves is you
There's not many players good enough for the Grimes role that are realistic targets so it's difficult to bring someone in.If Grimes were out injured for a few weeks, we’d be totally screwed. We do need someone in to share the workload, ideally who can run a game, that doesn’t include Torp, Eccles or Rudoni. Doug has to see this is the best chance in 25 years to return to the Prem, surely he can’t pennypinch now.
I don't think many, if anyone, is saying we're doomed. We had a series of injuries, illnesses and suspensions coupled with a string of some of the hardest games of the season and a couple of rivals hitting form. We signed two new players in positions where we had literally no cover, and now all those injured and suspended players are back. Through it all we remained top of the league by a multi-game margin.
If we decide we want a short-term loan to plug a gap or want to get our PL shopping started early then I'm all for it, but this notion that we're doomed to miss out on promotion unless we sign four or five new PL offcuts in this window is just people struggling to deal with the stress of a (extremely favourable) promotion race.
...take that bollock's elsewhere.
