Brau isn't too bad a lot left back. Looked quite composed to me. He probably could do with a run of games.

Wouldn't read anything into it, he gives nothing away. Last weekend he said nothing was imminent, then we sign 2 wingers.

I’d hope not. Two loan signings from Doug wouldn’t be real backing.

Happy to be proven wrong

I'd be more concerned if he said it, holding a copy of today's newspaper, with Doug holding a gun over his head.

Doug goes to most if not all matches and will surely see the problems that need addressing, the same as us. Well lets hope so anyway

He also said after that;

Asked if there is scope, if the right player comes along, to do more business this month, Lampard revealed: “I think, together, it’s something we’ll look at, yeah."

You only have to listen to the full interview to know the answer …. We clearly are still active in the market but Frank won’t comment on anything specific until the player is ours

Some were concerned after the blues match interview and thought lampard was hinting we had nothing lined up….we’d signed two players 72 hours later

Which he should that’s his job. He just needs to think about phrasing his questions differently.

He never comments on broad questions but he does answer more focused ones … yesterday he ruled out more attacking signings ( unless one leaves gets injured )

He could today ask whether with Ben Sheaf no longer in the club whether we are still one CM short ?

Absolutely. But when Lampard gives him a blunt, short answer, that means drop it and leave it alone. But he’ll ask at least twice more.

I’d generally be interested to see reporters asking him tactical questions, but it would require them to understand football a bit more beyond ‘ball in net equals goal’.

I’d love to know 3 things ….

Why we don’t leave JDS and Tats on the half way line at defensive corners to force the opposition to keep some players back

How many goals have we scored from Milan taking a throw from the left hand side ? Is it worth the defensive transition risk ?

When we need a goal with only minutes remaining why do we persist with playing it around the back ?

If you asked him tactical questions like that as if you (the interviewer) knows better he'd be well within his right to say I'm the manager shut the fuck up.

Doug, go and make a statement and offer £15m for Louza. He will take us to the Prem and be part of our XI when we get there.

Not all FL tactics are correct. We do play too open. Fans are happy to hang Brau out to dry, yes could have done better, but he was left isolated one on one. It's not the only incident of poor cover, especially when MVE goes to the other side to take long throws.

We have to learn not to come away with nothing. Press high but you still need sufficient cover at the back.

If he gets us over the line he will be a hero, but if he comes up short he will face lots of questions. I think we could benefit a lot from one or two minor tweaks at certain times just to make us less vulnerable

I reckon we’ll go on a good run again now, we were bound to struggle without Asante and torp, and if you take the Ipswich games out we haven’t been battered, it’s been fine margins and a small squad, you’ll see the difference on the bench Saturday, possibly torp, BTA, esse, hyeok and wright, we had Simms as the only forward option last week, that’s mad, just the defence to worry about now

I wouldn’t ask like that, but I would go for the ‘can you explain x tactic’, as someone wanting to understand things a bit better rather than trying to tell him he’s wrong.

Though to be clear I would go on a rant about set pieces, just because.

Watford have a decent shot at autos, especially signing Bove to play alongside Chakvetadze and Louza. Not a chance they sell him this window

I'm hopeful too. We were always going to have a dip in form and we are in the middle of a tough run of fixtures. However we do need to tighten up and ensure we more often than not come away with something. I'm not worried about the defenders we have, it's the system we play that exposes them, is more the issue for me.

It’s does feel like next Saturday is a must win! (I know!) purely to get everyone back on track. It’s the perfect game for it

Leicester and Millwall 6 points would be huge.

and no way on earth we get louza. But we do need to spend in that area.

Reading some of these threads jesus!!! Bed wetters or what!!! Here's a question, was our defence a problem when we were banging the goals in? It's still the same bloody squad plus 2.. we are Coventry City not Real pissing Madrid, just enjoy it and get behind the boys!!! Would much prefer to be Coventry City than Stoke did you see their pathetic stadium today?

Yes it was a problem when we were banging the goals in,. because we were giving teams too many chances. Sooner or later they will start taking them. It's more the system than the defence. It doesn't need a radical change. Just the odd tweak in certain situations.

Yes I'm enjoying it, one of the best seasons ever. In fact a lot better than many of our seasons in top flight League One and then when it became Premier League.

I know it would be very difficult and would take some bollocks to pull off but Doug should slap a 15 mill for Louza ( around that price is what it'll take) , he is absolutely quality and would be a statement signing, he'd step up to the next level as well!

People are saying they wouldn't sell but again every player has a price , 15 million for a player like him is worth it, yes it's a lot of money but this is the best chance in years of getting to the prem, if Doug takes the chance and signs him and a experienced CB he'll get his money back and much more when we are promoted
