They are being brought back to reality in terms of championship standard.
Keep them at Lg 2 prices. Have no money for stuff.
Simple.

Put football money back into football - fine - attract average level players.
Improve whole infrastructure (with his own money - he has said this!) then you gain an edge with higher level players looking at facilities/experience/care etc.

Kick off about increased prices. Expect decreased levels.

Think this post in itself has highlighted that there are not "huge" rises.

Rises, yes. But surely you can see how/why ..!?...
Can't you ....!?

Simple

Well kids prices already went up around 200% plus last season .. plus adults already pay more than most championship clubs for their children be it 5 or 12 years old for single match tickets outside the sold out family zone .. can't cripple families too much more outside the family zone, is the 825 that I paid last season for me and 2 kids not enough ?

How much more would be good enough for you ?

Sit in the family zone.
Those tickets worked out CHEAPER than sitting elsewhere the previous season.
Your choice not to. You could have paid 300/350 quid.
Everyone knows why he did this!!
People taking the piss - lower revenue - less money .. it's so simple to understand.
Your argument is that DK has not put money in...
Infrastructure has improved unrecognisably. His money.

So what about when the family zone sells out again ?

Are kids not supposed to be able to go because they couldn't sit in 4 blocks ?

Didn’t he do an interview where he basically said that the club would regress unless the fans continued turning up in such high numbers? It’d be nice of him to actually invest some of his own money into the playing side of the club.

Amazing how fans don't care about doug putting in his own cash , and think its up to the supporters to pay for us to be a proper club .. but wanky sisu were told for years they had to pay for the product to make fans want to go ?

Would have been interesting to see what happened if we never had the vik or hamer money ,what would the team have been like this year

Ok, so last season yes.
However, there was a time period where you (and obviously I do not know your circumstances) may have had an opportunity to purchase there.
I know that I personally had to seriously consider a move there due to cost. Which as I said, would have worked out CHEAPER for me and my two than the previous 25 quid kids season tickets. Fortunately I had a way offered to me that I didn't need to do this.

Bit of support/help for you here.
With the uproar (about still being able to miss half the games!) about the ticket exchange, there is a pretty good chance you might be able to get in there. Also have you tried the TOffice with regards to enquiring about 3 tickets in there? Might not be 3 together but one behind, two Infront for example??
Or being online on the day the season ticket says are released!?
Or, possibly, there may be other options that are being put in that we don't know about yet?

We've sat where we've sat for as long as I can remember (4 of us ) we are good , as for the just under 2000 kids places at a reasonable cost ... they will be gone again and then other kids elsewhere will STILL be paying through the nose , especially single matchday tickets

Loving the rants from people about Doug not spending any of his own money.

As mentioned, we've had £40m come in from transfers. Do people want him to spend £60/70m?

How much of the Vik and Hamer money would SISU have spent?

Did they spend the Maddison money on improving Ryton?

He hasn't needed to though.

Ideally, he shouldn't need to spend too much.

Do we want him to throw tens of millions in every year?

I really hope Doug isn't thinking like you. In football you don't have a captive audience and the onus is on the club to provide a product people want to buy. The customer can very easily decide not to continue to pay once decline sets in, as we've experienced in the past. It’s not like having to pay your water or electricity bill.

With the ever changing kick off times; the fact that a large proportion of matches will be televised; the cost of living crisis; the lack of ambition shown in January and potential sales of players as soon as they reach their peak, there is a real chance that crowds could drop off a lot. We might get away with modest increases next season but another transitional season and further decline in the league position and I feel attendances could really decline in coming years.

Number one way to piss off fans is to allow a small group to consistently abuse a system designed to encourage young fans.

Do you really think its fair that some families pay a fortune to go to games whilst some bloke gets a cheap ticket because his nephew comes once a year?

As for "decline", I'm really not sure what you want. Do you want the club to overspend? Or live within its means?

Right now we're a model for Championship clubs. You sound like you want to change that.

Well we already do have a situation where some families are paying a fortune outside the sold out family zone for their kids ?

I thought we were talking about prices generally. I certainly don't support people abusing the system for children's tickets.

What I take issue with is the attitude that the customer pays for any ambition. It works the other way round. The club has to provide a product we want to buy. The reality is many people won’t unless they like the product, especially in the current circumstances that I outlined.
