I think it'll be stronger next season personally but i also think we'll be stronger so it should level out. I'd be expecting play offs.

Depends on what Frank is allowed to bring in and who leaves in my opinion. Difficult one to call at the moment.

I think we are some way off an automatic promotion battle over the course of the season if we take into account depth of squad, but if we are allowed to bulk it up, cut some dead wood off and upgrade a few positions it could be possible.

Would things be so much different with Thomas, EMC, Torp and Dovin all being fit? I am not overly convinced whatever team we put out yesterday would have coped much better. We were just bullied and they wanted it more

I'd be amazed if we challenge for automatics.
I think in and around the play offs is our ceiling and if we keep doing it at some point we'll go up through them.

This is a weak year as Luton fucked it. How often do a parachute payment team finish in the bottom-half?

Also no promoted team will finish in the top half this season. Would be surprised if that happened again next year with Blues & Wrexham coming up

I wouldn’t know if we have a better squad.

Most teams are bunched up and there are all sorts of anomalies.

Sheffield Wednesday have the fifth best away record in the league and would be in the top 6 with a half decent away record.

Even Sheffield United lost to Plymouth and Oxford away and couldn’t beat Portsmouth.

Theres 20 points between 6th and the relegation zone, the top 3 aside there’s not much between the rest.

Feels a bit like the L2 season when we were very inconsistent going into the playoffs. That loss at home to Lincoln leaving us to need a point on the final day when it should have been a lot easier. I can’t see us doing a 6-1 like we did to Cheltenham either..

I think the league is going to be stronger next year personally. This year just has 3 good teams, a load of average then a load fighting going down.

We wouldn't have been able to shoot up the league like we did if it was a quality year.

Next year I don't expect much from Leicester but Ipswich and Saints will be really tough. We're going to lose some absolute dross going down and Blues with a couple other decent looking sides coming up, and if one of them is Wrexham they'll spend.

We shouldn't have our annual shit first third of a season next year so I expect us to contend anyway.

That L2 team had far more grit to it.

I'm not so sure

Ipswich could lose their manager and will lose a lot of players.

Wrexham can just spend as this league actually unlike the ones below it has proper PSR rules. Also their model has been to by aging players from the league above but that becomes much, much more expensive at this level. Also they have an awful manager who was looking they do spend a lot of money.

Saints depends on who they get in to manage. If it is Rohl as rumoured they could as you say be the side to catch.

I think it'll be weaker to be honest. Birmingham will add something for sure but I think Leicester and Soton won't be as strong as Leeds or Burnley this season. Leicester in particular.

Wrexham need to find 'their level' at some point so hopefully mid-lower table Championship is it.

However, forgetting about the rest of the division make up next season, hopefully our transfer business in the summer sees us tighten up defensively for next season.

What will be interesting is to see how we start the season. The last 3 seasons (maybe more) we've started the season poorly under Robins. Here's hoping we have a stronger start under Frank so we're not playing catch up from mid-season onwards.

There's no guarantee that Wrexham will even go up yet, although admittedly there's a very good chance. Hopefully Wycombe pip them to that last automatic spot.

Doesn't mean they'll be successful.

Yeah it's worked so far but doesn't mean it'll work in the Championship.

I agree, it's very middling by Championship standards. I've always had a sneaky they'll just spend what they want though and hope to go up to avoid dealing with the consequences of it.

Do we need a co owner who is prepared to invest funds to add to the money Doug puts in but who is content to let DK handle the strategic direction and his management team to implement that strategy?

There is nothing worse than meddling owners who think they know best but don't.

That's why I'm not sure we will. Last time in the play offs, although we didn't beat Middlesbrough at home, I was confident that team could go up to Middlesbrough, do a job and get the win. I just don't feel it with this team, especially playing away from home.

I think we will lose at Luton and bottle it against Middlesbrough. I hope this team proves me wrong.

You would have definitely been expecting him to save some of those goals that Collins let in. That would have changed everything.

I’d go as far as to say we’d be in the playoffs already. A point against Burnley and maybe three against Plymouth if we hadn’t given it away early.

To be honest I heard that theory about Burnley with Kompany, Leicester, both went straight back up.

It was also said about Sheffield United this year who have finished third comfortably and in all honesty probably should have finished in the top two except Wilder lost his head in recent games.

Genuine question, how could Leicester have lost their manager when they had already lost Rodgers and were bumbking along with a temo manager in Dean Smith I believe?

Also if Ipswich keep the level of player Burnley have then yeah but that is less likely, Philogene, Clarke, Phillips, Delap, Cajuste and Davis are unlikely to stay and if that happens they are a lot worse squad than Burnley this year.

Also blades did lose their manager or best player?

Agreed. He has stepped up but Bidwell knocking on now and generally over his tenure, da silva has been poor so we need a new one there, for me.
I wouldn’t say we need a RW unless Raphael is pony.
