We were pathetic today but we’re in the play offs with a 3 point cushion with 2 to go. I could see a world where we win the play offs too. Sunderland are in terrible form, Bristol city/Boro/Milwall don’t scare me and Sheff Utd have lost 4 of the last 5. Imagine this team in the prem…

I’m writing off the Luton game. Another physical scrap we won’t have the guts for.

Millwall technically could but they'd have to hammer their next 2 opponents to take us on goal difference.

Playing Swansea next who have won 5 on the bounce.

Millwall are more who I'm worried about, and a 6 goal turn around over 2 games isn't that big.
They also seem to be like we were in 23, with everything going their way
We're still in a good position, but it's far from a given.

It's possible Millwall could crash the party but we have +6 GD, other metrics are in our favour including games won and goals scored, so effectively +7, and if we beat Boro, that gets added to. Millwall play Burnley last game, and though they might win, I can't see them scoring lots of goals

I can see us getting beat at Luton and Boro winning at home to Norwich so it will go to a last game decider.

A team convinced it’s going to lose finds ways of making it happen. Difficult as it is these players need reminding it’s still in their hands and they have the ability.

Just have to do better than Middlesboro next game then all we need is a draw. The only way it’s a must win is if we lose at Luton and they win their game. (I’ve already written off other teams)

Millwall?

“Team full of pussies”. Jesus.

Won 14 out of the last 22.

One win out the last 2 games gets us in the playoffs*. Amazing achievement.

* Not strictly true

Or win against Luton (fucking doubt it!) and lose against Boro - they are above us on GD if they win their other game.

Ok. Forget my comment re wins. I’m stupid.

We’re not a “bunch of pussies” though. Awful comment.

Given their opponents it's unlikely they'll catch our goal difference, especially if we win one. Burnley could still be competing for title on the final day.

It is pretty true. Any time we’ve come up against a gritty, physical battle, we’ve turned into pussies. Particular players more than others.

In all honesty Simms should be a bully for defenders he has all the attributes he seems far too nice, cant someone give him a kick in the bollocks before the kick off on saturday or put a stone in his boot ?

After our start to the season i still find it amazing we are fighting for play off place and not fighting in a relegation battle. This squad have done really well to cope with change of manager, coaches and injuries to be where they are. Its still in our own hands and that's credit to them, but i honestly think its not our time this season. We have seen a few teams work us out and unfortunately we don't have the ability to change it to effect the outcome. We do lack in certain areas, but that is a different conversation come summer.

All to play for and at least 180 mins of twist and turns to come. We will get out of this season what we deserve and from that FL will learn a lot about who he has to hopefully stays to improve what is already a good group.

FWIW I think that was Boro’s chance today. I can’t see them getting anything at your place!

Millwall will have to go some home to the form team Swansea and away to Burnley who will be hoping Leeds slip up at Argyle to get the title.

Given the fixtures involved, you’d rather be in our position than Bristol City’s or Boro’s. I think momentum and squad morale is going to be key, and I do at least think Lampard has helped us greatly with both of those.

Yes.
Both on 69 goal difference well in their favour.Don't forget we would have do Luton by a fair few goals. It's in their favour now (5) and extra goal would make it 7 if they beat us.

He is actually right, if Bristol were to lose and draw one then we’d still get in. Don’t see that as likely given they end up at home to PNE but still.

I feel like a win at Luton will do it but I expect Boro to beat Norwich so it won’t. Millwall have a chance but tough games and poor GD.

Between us and Boro now. I think Bristol have done enough
