I think we'll lose 1-0. Gladly be wrong. Hate the journey home if we've lost

2-0 Crawley. There's no way our players will be as focused on the job in hand as they should be given the shambles surrounding the club. Trotting out in last year's shirt with the sponsor taped over, knowing that a week later they will be playing in front of a couple of thousand at 'home', an hours drive away. Expect the bulk of the players to be instructing their agents to sound them out for other clubs.

We're going down. Simple as that.

SISU fuck off.

We have enough firepower to cause Crawley problems, it will all depend on how Clarke and Willis get on at centre back assuming that's how we will line up

Crawley 2-3 Coventry

Baker x2 and L Clarke to score

I think we'll start the season well. Our first eleven probably still better than most in this division. Strength in depth an issue and I suspect we'll tail off with injuries and as more players leave. Still don't think we will be relegated.

Can't believe some people think having tape on their shirt will effect players' performance.

skybluelee is being realistic and I tend to agree with him i'm afraid. I would love to say 5-0 Cov and league won by December but the facts are we have a very weak squad with no depth and I can see us being adrift come New Year. The truth hurts.

Its just one (of many many many) reminders how much of a joke we currently are and that will have an impact on a players performance.

How many 40/60 challenges will a player go in for if they are trying to engineer a move away from the joke we are? I don't know if players are trying to move away but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they are.

They seemed pretty focused in the meaningless friendlies.

Is there a history of players shirking challenges when they are trying to engineer a move away? From my experience, players tend to up their game when they're in the shop window.

Footballers, in the main, care little about the off the field stuff, but are not too stupid to wheel it out as an excuse when it suits them.

The priorities of your average professional footballer can be summarised as follows:

1. Money
2. Women
3. Hair
4. Cars
5. Nandos
6. XBox

In that order.

I would have said 'tattoos' would probably fit in between 2 and 3.

To be fair our squad aren't particularly imposing or renowned flor their tackling ability and pull out of of most 50:50 challenges anyway....

I think that the town centre is only a short walk from the station for those that are there early enough, otherwise there's a couple of pubs on the way to the ground.

Makes you wonder what effect the off field matters will have on the players?
Will SISU continue to bankroll the players wages as a result in massive reductions in revenue?
Lack of depth in the squad due to the transfer embargo.
This is all bound to impact on motivation and performance levels and is likely to lead to one of our poorest starts to a season.
Maybe our away following will have a positive effect on the players but lack of home support with opponents significantly outnumbering our own will prove to be divisive in terms of 'home' results.
I think we'll be lucky to come away with a point at Crawley but hope I'm wrong.

We've still got the ability in the side to score goals, but with our young defence I think we'll concede goals too. I hope we score more than we concede, but fear the reverse will happen.

A good start would be interesting to see how many fans it attracted to other away games and how they'd allocate priority. Donny won it last year despite being shite, take away wolves and it's a shite division.
