We are currently 16th, just one off what was our seemingly favourite position in the Championship for several years. I hope that history doesn't repeat itself & we finish 17th for 5/6 years, starting off well, dramatic slump in form, rejuvenation & flirtation with the play offs, then finally another slump to 17th, then after shipping out underperforming players & managers... Am I on my own seeing this cycle? Of course we had 10 points deducted, but nevertheless, 17th is on the cards, not trying to be depressing post here, or meaningless before the tirade of insults start, but it has been something that has been bugging me all day. With news of squad being trimmed, I fear the worst & we are left with just the kids & David Bell. PUSB.

<p>This summer (let's hope it doesn't drag on longer!) will decide whether this is a turning point or whether our decline will continue - I'm more than a little scared that in a couple of years we may look back on 17th in the third division as a golden time.

My thoughts exactly, if this mess isn't sorted out positively for the club, we could as you say look back on this season as our best. I hope not, we deserve something good after so many years of broken promises & lies.

I think we will all look on with trepidation this summer it's a hard enough time for any club with the FFP coming into force but the added worry of ownership uncertainty will play a huge part in our anxiety does anyone know if there is a cut off date regarding when your turnover is assessed in relation to what your playing bill can be for example if any takeover happened but didn't go through till near the start of the season would new owners have time to include new revenue schemes or investments or would that have to wait until next transfer window or next accounts due

Trepidation indeed, usually the summer is an escape from the frustration & disappointment of the football season, but as you rightly state, this summer is going to be more tense than any season. I just hope & pray that for once something good happens for us & this takeover goes through.
