it more than just what happened on the pitch

robins would acknowledge the fans at any given time

everytime the fans sang his name, even at the start, he would acknowledge the fans

you can deny that all you want, it’s true

a few times now Lampard has had his name sang no acknowledgment

since then his name hasn’t been sung once

Little things make a big impression or little impression in this instance

fans remember the finer things especially when the going gets tough

The Pompey game was a prime example for anyone there that day

His name was being sung on boxing day, the narrative you're spinning just isn't true.

i take the point but for me anyway I couldn’t care less about him kissing badges and that stuff. He’s a Chelsea fan who’s come here to get his reputation back by hopefully getting us promoted, and if that happened he’d likely move on soon after. That’s ok for me, win win. It’s a different era now.

Lampard made it clear in his first interview that he doesn't want fans singing his name. He wants the fans backing the players.

you really think fans will listen to that?

We sang it few times hasn’t acknowledged it. hasn’t been sung yet

Example of how connection between club and fans is different to 12 months ago

for the worse imo

I couldn't. But to play devil's advocate a bit a lot of younger fans do and I think it helps cultivate support.
I think Lampards a bit embarrassed about doing it while we're struggling but that's just my guess.

Alternatively, if he was lapping it up while performing poorly, people would be moaning about that too.

Robins did acknowledge the fans but he was also miserable all the time. He didn't always respond to his song.

So you think there should be a strong bond between Frank and the fans?

The times I've seen it, he has applauded.

Although some of the times it has been a bit cringeworthy that it's being busted out.

That was a week ago.

Two drab draws have followed since, as soon as we’re winning again we’ll be singing his name again.

The ‘Super Frank’ song was sung after we equalised v Cardiff as it has been every time we’ve scored in his tenure.

I didn’t hear much abuse round me. The booing at half-time was the most noticeable. Plus the twerp behind that had a potty mouth.

The Pompey game was worse. Fans sharing opposing opinions, others wanting to butt in and ‘have a go’.

But we no longer expect much out of the games this season. The club is blowing its momentum.

As for the football. Tippy-tappy is not attractive in a losing team.

The worst thing I heard at Portsmouth was some big fat bloke behind the goal shouting absolute abuse at Collins including abusing his kids and family. Absolute bell end and no matter how poor Collins was there is no need for that from a supposed own fan. You could tell it got to Collins as he started standing further out to get away from the arsehole.
what made it even worst is that he was with a local supporters club as I saw him getting on the coach after

Football fans mood has always been driven by what is happening on the pitch. We play slow ponderous negative football so unsurprisingly the atmosphere matches it. For orchestrated singing and dancing about you can try the MLS

I must have been near you. Collins was clearly rattled and as you say, stood near the 18 yard box, looking back. It was also getting heated amongst several fans who called out the critical fans. Fat man at the front wasn’t challenged. He delighted in fist bumping the steward nearby as well. Twerp. He’s the opposition’s number one asset.

Your coach should have left him.

Should have spent the coach ride back insulting his family see how he likes it.

Collins was looking back to watch the replay of the goal on the screen above the away end. I don’t think he really reacted at all to the fans.
