Looking at the section we are in we should be do very well

Teams in the South West Group who will play in the First Round are:

AFC Wimbledon
Barnet
Exeter City
Newport County
Plymouth Argyle
Swindon Town
Yeovil Town.

All League 2 teams excluding us and Swindon who we need to avoid!

It's important we do well this year because we need to get fans interested again. 32,000 in the area final and 40,000 at Wembley, would be a dream.

But, we'll obviously get knocked out in the second round.

Keeping in mind our paper-thin squad & my personal complete apathy towards the JPT pot......I wouldn't care if we did go out in round 2.

Wouldn't be suprised if TM tries and goes for this as would create extra revenue through ticket sales at the latter stages of the competition.

I can understand people seeing it as rock bottom on the list of priorities, but I'd love another go at the JPT. That run the other year was one of the few things I look back at fondly in the last five years or so. Successful shootouts, that late turnaround against Preston, quickly being relieved that I couldn't make the Crewe semi, magical days.

And you are basing that on what exactly? Oh yeah, we are Coventry City, that means we beat teams like that!:claping hands:

No, just with our team I'd expect us to beat mediocre League 2 teams over 90 minutes, surely?

The two most enjoyable games I watched last season were the JPT games (Gillingham game aside). I don't get why people are so down on the competition.

What a bell end! :jerkit:

Did I say anything along those lines that "We are Coventry City"? No
Did I say we SHOULD do well? Yes (note the key word there)

I'm basing it on the fact they are all lower league teams and we should be beating teams of this standard especially over 90 minutes If not on penalties

It is a bit of a nothing competition but I'd bloody love a day out at Wembley with city. And who knows what it could do for confidence as well.
