Back again with another video - this time diving into our striker situation.

There’s been a lot of chat about whether we need to bring someone in, but I’ve taken a step back to look at what we’ve already got in Simms, Wright, Thomas-Asante and Bassette. I break down their playstyles, strengths, and where they fit in...

Would love to know what others think — are we actually covered up front? Or do we simply not have the calibre. Whilst I don't personally see us bringing in a new striker, I could entertain a loan spell for Bassette.

As always, any feedback on the video or suggestions for future topics are welcome. I know a few are not so keen on music so I've quietenedCheers for watching if you do!

I agree with most of what you are saying & ties in with Lampard talking about needing to develop different ways to attack

With the Leeds comparison - it helps a lot that they are playing it into Piroe who you can trust to play it into. I think if we had a player like him we would play it into those areas more, but they aren't going to play that ball into Simms/Wright as their first touch is bad and we'll just lose the ball

If we could get a striker like that I would roll the dice (very hard to find) but otherwise we're probably going to have to stick with it & hope a winger and/or progressive CM (Torp?) can sort it out

How often do our midfielders hit the target and force a save? I have a lot of memories of shots going high and wide,I could be wrong but I would sooner shots drilled in low.

Excluding Jamie Paterson. Low vs high would be interesting.

I've watched of couple of your videos, including this one yesterday. Didn't realise you were on here but a decent listen to be fair.

Ben Sheaf's shooting stats highlight what we've already known for 2 or 3 years.

Thanks I’m working on a full season model that I’ll drop as a prediction before the season starts. It’s incorporating playstyles + new player signings for each team so it should offer some good insights. As and when we sign players I’ll look to post too! I’m hoping to be as consistent as possible with predictions leading up to games/post analysis (if I can keep up). Perhaps run a Match Plot vs SBT match prediction throughout the season.

Any interesting analysis you want to see just shout and I’ll see what I can rustle up.

(I’ve currently got restrictions on my account (which the admin are working on), so I can’t interact with other posts just yet)

That sounds great, looking forward to it.

Would definitely be interested in seeing pre-match analysis of the opposition but I imagine that’s a mammoth undertaking.
