Definitely.

I was very encouraged today. On another day we would have bagged at least 4 goals

Were weaker in CM than any other position. Mad we haven’t strengthened there.

Good game, we played well second half but just lack quality.

Jay Dasilva and Thomas were our two best players.

For me formation killed us when Hamer came off, we were just too open. Quite often Palmer is further forward than the strong two.

I thought Dasilva struggled in the second half to recover position far too much

We held our own today against what could be this years Burnley. We’ve got lots of new signings to bed in and they will start to make the lineup, I am very excited for the season ahead. Dewksbury Hall and Mavididi were unfortunately the difference but we did very well.

Harsh on Sheaf he was playing centre mid on his own for most of the game.

Hamer going off cost us that game.
Poor decision by MR
Other than that we were ok

Ah shite, some good signs, KDH looks a player unfortunately. Simms had some great hold up play and Wright nearly went down in history with that run and shot. Not to be but we move on, I reality we shouldn't be able to compete with the relegated Prem teams but we went toe to toe

Some quick thoughts whilst it is still hot:

- Some really good bits of play today
- Thomas looks excellent
- Great goal from Fadz
- Some really good bits from Palmer, but was far too tired for a while before finally taken off
- Godden surrendering his place for someone else on that performance alone - even I cannot defend him today
- Missing so many chances cost us and is the bottom line
- Sheaf looked disjointed too many times
- MVE wasn't ready

Still plenty to work with and we will get better for sure. Just frustrating to give that game away in the way that we did. Some players that looked a bit off today will get their act together I'm sure. Without trying to sound too bitter, I feel like we gifted Leicester a win. I don't think they deserved it at all. Were just a bit more clinical when it counts.

Sakamoto looks a real live wire.
I can see him causing trouble in this league.

Wright will be a big player, but we need to find a player to play along side him.

Defence looked very good until they tired, Thomas looks a good find, and Desilva impressed going forward.

Palmer and Hamer were sharp and impressive, but we need strikers who can finish what they create.

Let's see what MR says first.

Could well be Hamer was carrying a knock

We had so many chances to make it 2-0 and Godden was guilty of wasting most of them. Once Hamer left, we lacked bite in the midfield. A second goal for us could have sealed a win.

Very encouraged at that performance despite the defeat.

Some good individual displays.

I think we'll have a good season and we'll score plenty of goals along the way.

Haven't read this thread yet so no idea what people have said, but I thought we played really well for the most part, just ran out of steam near the end.

Thought the new guys at the back looked really good, Simms was a little clumsy but there's bags of potential there, and the subs weren't quite on the same wavelength as the rest of the team yet.

We went toe-to-toe with the red-hot favourites, and could easily have got a result, so there's lots to be optimistic about.

Criminal that we didn't at least come away with a draw. Thomas and Hamer, excellent, mention for Eccles did well against their winger. Wright looks a handful.

If Hamer has to go off because he is still in recovery from injury mode we would of been better sliding Eccles across.

Still plenty of promise in the team

On another day Godden gets a hat trick and we’re out of sight. He’ll have a sleepless night tonight.

After a dodgy first half hour we’ve played really well. The back four, especially Thomas look really solid. Gus again another level but not 100% match fit, hence the change. Nice cameo from Wright.. but for a great save from their keeper and the woodwork, we go back in front. Instead they go the other way and score. That’s football though.. fine margins.

A lot to be optimistic about.

Happy with all the new signings who started, Simms has that chaotic Adebola feel to him, a bit slow off the line but makes up for it in link up play and just generally being a menace. Really want to see what we look like with fully fit Wright and Simms partnering, as Haji seems to have a bit more pace about him and could play off the shoulder. Think we’re gonna be a dangerous side this season if we can keep or adequately replace Gus.

All I'm gonna say is that they are ex Premier League and we should of won. We never looked out of place. But should of kept Hamer on....PUSB on to the next

An expected result. Leicester didn't play well and their fans didn't sing till the 70+ minute. Either way, we look good.for this season especially with the new players coming in. Let's go.

Generally, lots of positives. I still feel against the sides coming down from the PL is that they are just that little bit more clinical. You can be the better side but they can turn it in an instance. Dewsbury-Hall is a player who was being toted for a late England call up last year and for all the big signings we've made, Leicester have genuine PL quality in their side.

Subs cost us. But would you want to come on into that? That was like record breaking basketball match. Of course Kelly's gonna look slow he was up and 3 charging at him.

MVE looked very poor. Wright looked like he's gonna be a very exciting player.

Overall I'm really proud of us actually. I'm gutted we lost but there will he thousands of champions fans watching that thinking, shit Cov are gonna be up there.

Ps people calling for Eccles off at ht. Behave. He had mavidi in his pocket and the subs meant we let him run riot
