We’ve spunked a few quid on some exciting footballers, they’re all fit young lads, let’s let them loose at least for some of the game and let them off their leash. I’m sorry but too much of the Eccles and Goddens at this level will be counter productive .

I'm sure your better than that.

I'm not. I'm laughing because that word has been a source of debate in a Match Thread. Totally batsh*t, this place. Which I like. Makes me LOL.

P.S. anyone else spot that Sutton Utd have hired a bunch of MMA Heavyweights? Had to check that it wasn't their team mates being (literal) midgets.

I don't think we will struggle this season at all but have a horrible feeling we get bummed tomorrow.

Sheaf / Kelly / Hamer
Godden / Simms
With Eccles at RWB.?

I wouldn’t bet against seeing that, but not starting Palmer, MVE, Wright or Sakamoto seems too over cautious

More Eccles bashing. He's an absolutely fantastic defensive mid, and only 23 years old. I'm sure he'll get plenty of game time this season, and rightly so.

Eccles is great, no problem with him in midfield. Following our recruitment theres absolutely no way he should spend one minute at RWB however.

Although I remember going to Watford, having Eccles and Burroughs as our wing backs , after an initial burning they both had superb games and greatly contributed to us beating them

I am a massive pessimist at times so I'm not expecting too much today. Leicester still have a strong first 11, our pre -season will have put us slightly behind and we've had a few lads in who haven't had a lot of time to gel.

I hope we do okay, just no weight of expectation on them today from me, I won't be too critical.

Ten games in though, if we're not blowing teams away 6-0 I'll be calling for Robins head.

Will just be looking for some positive signs not too worried about the result either way. First game rarely decides the season

I think we'll go...

Collins

Thomas Fadz Lati
Saka Da Silva
Hamer Sheaf
Palmer
Godden Simms

Think MVE will come on as a sub and won't start as hasn't really played pre-season. Doubt Robins will throw Haji in from the start as he's only just got here, but hopefully on the bench.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Eccles RWB and Saka as a bench option to replace an inevitably tiring Palmer on 60 mins!

EDIT - i did do the formation thing using the space bar, but it didn't work. So you'll have to just use your imagination. No that isn't Saka and Da Silva as defensive mids....

I think we will play a little bit there. He may or may not play there today, but I think MR sees Eccles as the backup RWB option (maybe Sakamoto too).

I hope we put the best team talent wise out today. No point starting season off with a missed opportunity. But in robins we trust whatever he decides

I'm gonna rewatch playoff final before this game as closure of last season I think.

Hopefully it can become like a necessary learning moment on our journey to prem that took one extra year

I think we will do very, very well this season, but am concerned about this opening fixture, so would be delighted with a draw here.

Yep the last 2 he wants for now

When he says he will 'revisit' if he gets these in thats when he will allow the outgoings, Howley Obikwu, Rus for loans, Moore to leave

O'Hare being ahead of schedule means we can probably do without another CAM

Draw is a great result. That’s why I think Robins will play a team he knows first before putting too many new players in. The biggest risk is how quickly our defence beds in.

I don’t think playing Eccles RWB necessarily means being more conservative. He’s not an action wing back who’s going to take players on but he’s a clever footballer can create in different ways, plus we’re going to have a lot of players making their debut tomorrow I don’t mind us playing him for some continuity then bringing Van Ewijk/Sakamoto on.
Most of the new players haven’t had long to bed in and most haven’t played in this league. Was likely MR would go cautious. As the game wears on we will have exciting players who will be fresh and haven’t got to last 90 mins.

In fairness there is a lot of very whipped men out there these days. A lot of very controlling women behind it. It doesn't get talked about anywhere near as much if the sexes were switched, but it is a pretty serious problem. I know a lot of blokes that are too frightened to even come for a pint now.

Not suggesting that is the poster in question as a birthday is a bit different, but the point still stands. You can't just brandish any man who wants a bit of freedom as an incel.

Anyway, there is a game tomorrow..

Unfortunately my boy's been up sick all night, so we won't make it today

So there's an adult and u18 ticket available if anyone wants them? You'll have to collect from Banbury though. PM me!
