What's Bidwell done wrong? Wasn't there a story about him going to Brum in the window?

Surely as an established Champ player we are paying decent wages / contribution.

He’s behind a player that when everyone is fit doesn’t automatically get into our u21/23 team.

In which case send him (Mcg) back and pay for the blood / saliva analysis capabilities that MR keeps banging on about.

Strange situation

He's not on loan. He's on a 6 month contract.

Agreed. Supposed to have a bright future, would have hoped he'd have got a few more minutes this season, so lets hope he takes his chance.

I'm quite excited to see Howley. It's the wing backs that have got me shaking my head

Why is everyone saying there's a conspiracy involving Bidwell? Could it not just be that he's being rested?

How are people getting 4-4-2 out of that?

It’s the normal formation but with no natural 10 and a striker who’s contribution outside of the box is minimal. Hoping two more offensive wing backs balances it out a bit.

Interested to see Howley, but disappointed it’s at the expense of a 10.

Dabo (likely unfit) over Burroughs is mental too. Hope Dabo has a stormer, but if it’s anything like last time he was put back in, it’s not good.

Optimistic we’ll be up for it as the players know we need a win for any hope at all of an exciting end of the season.

Thought it was a loan until his contract expired. I’ve checked and you’re right. Fair enough. Seems even more mad. Waste of money at this stage.

The side notes seem to suggest 4-4-2.

I think it's a sensible team selection. Not playing anyone in an unnatural position or weakening our stronger areas to fit players inelsewhere. Bidwell in for jwe maybe, but let's see jwe start left wing back as that's supposed to be his best position.

Does seem Robins is liking one defensive wing back and one attacking, and they've just swapped sides for this game.

Unless Doyle is LB and JWE in the CM somehow. The team notes seem to say such.

We'll win this 2-1 today. Walker to bag off the bench I feel.

I know what I really think but accept its pretty much down to bad luck and will hope for the best nevertheless. I'll still flip my lid if we lose though, which is my right as a fan.

I can see Robins' thinking about the defence. JWE is still unproven at this level and noone is sure about Dabz continuing health. We need to rotate the squad for fitness and burnout so let them start and if there are any problems during the game, we have 2 healthy and game-ready players to replace. If we started with Bidwell and BNC and either of them were injured, we'd all be complaining about the quality of the replacements.

Last home game, the Twitter team release had a player listed who was injured. The Social Media team may only get the players on a sheet of paper and they have to make an informed judgement.

I think Dabo is just a blind favourite of his. Not sure there is any other logic as he seems to get played through hell or high water.

I can see him getting a contract extention, which isn't really the direction we should be looking to go in.

Fair enough resting Bidwell. We always complain about our players having to play too many games and now we're complaining that we are resting players. I'd have rather seen Burroughs play in CM than Howley though. Hope Howley has significantly improved from the couple of games I saw him in last season

Possibly not resting Bidwell?... maybe going for a more attacking option (gamble!) of Wilson Esbrand....??.....

I agree, but I think it's good that we have the option of bringing on Bidwell, Burroughs, BNC, and Walker, and they're all fully fit.
