Is it that bad a suggestion? Don't see the point in the U21s if players performing consistently in that team have no shot at the first team, esp. when we've got injuries in a particular position.

What are the attributes of an attacking midfielder? Being able to receive, anticipate, pass, dribble, run, shoot?

You saying he can’t do that?

He’s clearly capable of playing there. I’d argue far better than any other player at the club IMO.

How many fit at our club are better than Hamer in an attacking midfield role.

You can’t answer old fella.

Stick to bingo.

How many fit at the club are better than Hamer in his role more importantly? You don't displace your best player from his normal position

Gyokeres is powerful and can dribble and cross, play him RWB instead of Cuffy

Why would you intentionally reduce the effectiveness of one of your best players, actually the best in my opinion? You have to maximise the ability of your best players.

We are missing an entire midfield, there is nobody left to put in there except Hamer and Eccles, who themselves might be pushing their limits to keep going.

Burroughs, JWE, I see no reason why you couldnt consider Panzo on left of midfield or LWB? I think Bidwell is skilled enough to play LWB or LM in the circumstances. These arent ideal but why play 3 up front if you cant get the ball to them? Unless you want to abandon our passing game and resort to hoof ball.

Hamer gets forward even when playing a deep mid role. Why change the fit experienced regulars from their normal roles?

Even if we get the ball up to them the ball won't stick with Godden or Walker, so you can only play one of them. It will just come back and we have less cover in defence and midfield.

Can see us struggling here with a make shift midfield - Colin’s side may outfight us in the middle of the park

If we'd played Hamer 10 or 15 yards further forward on Tuesday we'd have lost.

Quite. Why play one player slightly out of position when you could put 4 or 5 into roles they've never played before &/or change formation & system to one we have zero familiarity with?

Good old footy fans

No, but I think there are very few games in this division where teams should be expected to win without any excuses, and Huddersfield away probably isn’t one of those for us right now.

I guess if Colin plays Hudlin we might need two keepers if the Philosopher is to be believed.

I would go for that team with Burroughs in place of Moore. Also only Dabo if fully fit.

Wilson can kick the ball very far so thought he'd be a good fit in midfield

I think there's a stronger argument for pushing Hamer up field once Sheaf is back. Luckily there are only four games in March for the players to get a bit of an easier time of things, with the tough April schedue coming up. Injuries often come from fatigue.

Godden and MacGuire are both going to need game time in their legs over the next few weeks.

Strangely, the only game of the last season and two thirds that Vik didn't play a minute of was Huddersfield away last season.

I do wonder whether it would be worth resting him from the start given that he is less effective in a two which we'll necessarily have to play, giving us the option to bring him on later in the game. It also helps in giving him a bit of a rest as he's played a lot and got very heavily marked on Tuesday night.

I think we need to accept Mugwire isn’t going to start or even get on the pitch in all likelihood.
