There are people who slate Godden but rate Walker as if he’s Karim Benzema.

Nah I assume that'll be Hamer and JWE will be a wing back.

Picks him to give you someone to bellyache about all match, bet a Godden goal and winner will spoil you weekend.

People clamouring for Walker to start because he done well in a few minutes off the bench. I quite like Walker but the clamour for him to start is madness

It's bizarre to hold that spell at Portsmouth against him when the blokes confidence was in the gutter. He'd previously proved he was more than capable of scoring at that level so how about just judge him in the here and now? I'm sure he'll move on come the end of the season, which he probably needs but he's looked fairly bright recently which is a credit to him as he could just down tools and good for us as we'll certainly need him in some capacity.

But he hasn't scored goals consistently for 3 of 4 years, and that was at league 1 and 2 level.
He played 15 games for Portsmouth on loan which is plenty long enough to sort his "confidence" out.
He's been a poor signing for us, but I wish him well for his next club. But I'm afraid he's done nothing to earn a start.

It is a miracle we have any shot of the playoffs with a squad this weak.

Hope Hamer has got his running boots on, he'll need them to cover for Eccles and Kelly.

Godden was poor at Blackburn but so was everyone else. The stick he gets is fucking brain dead

Literally no one does this. Godden has been poor recently and hasn't linked up with Vik well at all, it wouldn't do any harm to give Walker a start and could make us look fresher.

tbh it's more that Walker looks a better partner for Gyokeres than Godden. We're not maximising Godden atm, and that's as much because we have a superstar playing in areas that aren't suiting Godden.

His goals in our first Championship season helped keep us up which was vital, based on that alone he's a mediocre signing rather than a poor one.

Spot on. I’m a big Godden fan but would like to see Walker given a bit more of a crack than five mins here or there. Bit more pace changes the dynamic sometimes

The snobbishness of references to day trippers and get it forward is embarrassing- you want as many in tbe ground as possible

I expect it to be a tight nervy game from us but think we'll get a 1-0 win, hope it's more comfortable than that as my nerves are shredded

He does, I don't think I'd be renewing him as I think we can now be looking at better, but I respect that he still looks up for it and I do think he's played pretty well recently.

I am sure Fadz would have started if Carroll wasn't suspended. It will be a good test of what the young lads have learnt under Fadz. I thought Panzo looked lively in his short sub appearance. He doesn't look a sulker either, though who knows behind close doors.

I said this earlier, same as Diaz at Blackburn. If they don't get a move at their peak they run the risk of staying put. This is why I'm sure gyok will go, need to leave whilst your stock is high.

Heres a thought? Start a thread Coventry vs Reading Referee thread and all those that make so many comments on the referee during the game can post in that thread. I try to follow the game here in NZ on this site but rather than get the flow of the game all I get is constant comments on the referee? The Blackburn game all I got was comments on how bad the referee was and yet on BBC I see they gave away 14 fouls to our 9? Just an idea!

I like Godden, but I just don’t think him and Gyokeres play very well as a pair. Both much better playing on their own upfront with two AMs behind imo. Obviously we can’t really do that right now, but I’d like to see a bit more of Gyokeres and Walker together to see if that works any better.

It’s clear Walker has all but left the room. At least he’s not bombed out like Rose but I think godden will just start games. Todays opposition may be more suited to godden I suppose

I actually quite like that team; defensiveness of Kelly is mitigated a little by two attacking WBs.

I like Panzo too, it’s more whether Doyle can perform at CB. Hoping Walker gets 30 mins.

I don't think a goal would spoil anyones weekend except for Coventry haters and Reading fans I would welcome it but he needs to step up his game ...what is being said for the rose tinted brigade is that of late he hasn't been very good ...lets hope that changes with the faith Robins has put in him...watch the feckin game now
