This is interesting (albeit a couple of years old) - shows how the trickle down effect of Premier League money doesn't happen, yet the trickle down of wage demands does.

Yeah, it's a lot lower than I thought it would be in league 1 to be fair.

It's basic pay as well, not including appearance or tying up shoes properly bonuses.

The numbers represent basic pay; wages typically increase by 50 to 100 per cent with appearance money and bonuses.

It also includes anybody with a pro contract, including younger players on smaller contracts.

I'd love a tying up shoes properly bonus. My mum says I'm the best at that.

Interesting but I would take those figures with a pinch of salt as the reported average UK full time salary in 2009/2010 was £24900 as opposed to the £34112 listed in the table which throws doubts as to the other figures quoted.
