Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I struggle to see C-L as a realistic signing. His wages will be far more than anything we pay

I agree, in 1967 when I was 7 the older fans around me spent all match abusing our players and teaching me new words. 😉 The current match day experience is much more civilised in comparison.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I’m questioning how Bassett would fit into the sole striker system that FL favours. He doesn’t seem good at holding up the ball with his back to goal to play others in. What he doesn’t seem seem suited to is running channels and Torp could be key in playing the right passes for him.

Exactly, when bidding for players DK won't want clubs knowing we've just pocked an extra "x" £M.

Only guaranteed away tickets? What about the executive chauffeur travel that was previously supplied? 😉

    Viktor Moving on

Vik is now 27 and his next contract is the one that sets him up for life. talk of him staying in Lisbon is interesting, but can they offer him £250k per week? I doubt it. Secondly, only Lisbon and PSG , Arsenal of the clubs rumoured to be interested can offer Champions league football next...

I'm beginning to wonder if our recruitment team is on commission from Barnsley? ;)

    Viktor Moving on

I would guess that in the case of two clubs bidding against each other for Vik. They will both offer the agreed "release" amount, which reports suggest is less than the stated release fee AND Vik and his agent will pocket the extra funds in a bidding war.

I was relaxed about the timeline for renewal, until my wife pointed out how forgetful I’m getting. Hence renewed yesterday before dementia really gets hold

It would be stupid to sell Rudoni to another championship club, if we are serious about trying to get promotion. His value is not going to decrease in another year [unless he gets a serious injury]. If he goes to PL club or abroad for a very high fee, then that's slightly more understandable.

    Retained List

I've seen it within my work at football clubs. I agree that it is a really tough sector to be working in. Many of those players will have been connected with a club from the age of 7 or 8 years of age. They'll envisage a career of professional football and just one bad injury, their whole...

    Retained List

On any Saudi investment into another football club, there are a few things to question. The Saudi Public Investment Fund [PIF] in effect owns NUFC & funds 4 clubs in the Saudi League. Hence, I question whether it's the PIF looking to buy another club in England, as they'll be a conflict of...

Absolutely, creating water privatised monopolies with no free market competition was a license to make money for shareholders and CEOs. What is even worse is their failure to invest enough to deliver an effective service.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

It seems that a lot of the speculation on here is linked to players we've seen in the EFL. However, one thing we have learned over the past couple of years is the recruitment team identifying players we've never seen or heard of. Torp, Tats, Dovin, etc. It'll be interesting to see what they come...

Match Thread Coventry v Sunderland Championship Playoff 1st Leg Friday 9th May

I’ve not read the previous 44 pages, but excuse my responses if it only repeats other posts. 1. They did their homework and “parked the bus”. 2. We were too slow in our approach play, as it allowed them to be set and double mark our creative players. 3. Our vulnerability to counter attacks is...
