When did it begin for you?

Yep - respect to Voice of Reason, is he the longest standing supporter on this forum? Is there a Capel and Coleridge, or some such like who is of a similar fine ‘vintage’?

When did it begin for you?

A bit off piste - not my first game, which was Cov v Sunderland, FA Cup 5th round, 1963, but my last game before I left Coventry for Norfolk, as a 14 year old with my family to follow my dad’s change of job. December 26, 1969, City 3 Ipswich 1. Goal scorers Ernie Hunt and Neil Martin, plus an...

When did it begin for you?

Same here. What a year to start supporting City, eh? The Sky Blue Revolution in the swinging sixties, in a thriving city.

    84 points should do it.

And Blackburn beat Millwall and held boro in the last two games. And drew with Ipswich in the rearranged game…..

    Matt Grimes

Yeh, and in many ways this tribalism is what sets football apart from other sports, which is what makes it a great sport for football fans.

In addition, we cheer Hamer and boo O’Hare - nuts. Ok, O’Hare ran his contract down, but it looked to me that Robins was freezing him out in the second half of the season. He always gave his all in the Coventry shirt. I wouldn’t cheer or boo either of them, prefer to focus on our own players.

    Matt Grimes

Yep, football fans are football fans, and often there’s no logic to their response to previous players. Grimes gave 10 good years to Swansea, City met the asking price and I’m guessing that Grimes felt his career would benefit from a fresh challenge, and additionally, we were probably a better...

Where and when will we win promotion?

I don’t care how or when we get promoted.

You can only have a ticket if you remember…

Yep, every two or three minutes a City fan would leave the uncovered end run across the corner of the pitch to the covered stand, dodging the stewards who were trying to stop them. Wettest I’ve ever been.

You can only have a ticket if you remember…

And - if you stood in the open away end at Blackpool in the league cup in 1997, losing 1-0 and getting absolutely soaked in torrential rain that never stopped. We drove home to Northumberland in our underwear that night….. Similar, a defeat at Bristol Rovers in the pouring rain…..

Rules tweaks that might be made

I agree, I think this would be a good move. It should be easier to ‘mind the gap’, puts the attacking side first, and I would more happily accept an offside decision on this basis, rather than Haji’s big toe, which I don’t think I will ever get over….

    U OK M8 ? (A rolling poll)

I’m finding it really difficult. If I can get to a game, I’m not so bad, I think being with like minded Coventrians eases the stress. But because I can’t get tickets to games, I’m watching on the tv and that is absolute hell. I’m kicking every ball and shouting at the tv, every time we lose the...
