    CCFC 10 years from now...

Just looking back at what we thought was going to happen a few years back. Doom and gloom. Average attendance will be about a 50 year high of 24000 this season (Leeds game and play off run in will boost a bit) and we are competing up in the upper reaches of the Champ. Happy days.

Get that clown out of goal

I mentioned before that Collins has a habit of just hoofing long - particularly problematic when we had Godden and JDS and Tats up front in the main. Wilson seems a bit more quick to spot and bowl out. Not saying he’s a better keeper, just stronger in some areas whereas it seems the stats show...

Collins v Plymouth. He had a habit of not adapting to the players on the pitch. Long punts to the left hoping JDS would win an aerial duel was simply bonkers for example. Wilson kept a clean sheet so I see him starting against Preston. I wonder who Robins picks for the cup now?

Toro banging in a screamer on his debut probably settled him a bit quicker.

Just watched it - didn’t see the deflection live. To me, MVE showed him too much room and the deflection did for Collins. On first showing, as stated, it do look like the near post wasn’t covered.

Collins 5 Conceded 2 and not sure he was properly covering his near post for their second. The replay highlights might show. The tactic of hoofing long balls for Godden and JDS to try to head seems a bit mad. MVE 6 Didn’t quite click for him tonight. Maybe missed having Saka to link with...

We have too many on the goal line and no one to follow up around the penalty spot. Needs looking at.

The long ball to JDS was the start of their move. Why?

Godden needs to start timing his jumping up for headers from long balls. Always seems to jump early - his timing is all out. Should have buried that chance too. Palmer’s close control is great to watch. Can see why Bristol paid a lot of money for him back in the day.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned, was Fadz the only player we had actually born before we won the cup? Not one player in the club was born when we won the cup? Feel old.

    Transfer targets

Allen is a good squad player but just not quick (short stride is quick enough but doesn’t cover the ground quickly to track back or run on to a forward ball - just my observation) or physical enough to be where we need to be. Obviously, doesn’t offer much in the air. He does have good ability...

    Debuts

Here’s one I remember as a kid: Jose Perdomo. Looked to be in a different level in midfield. F knows what happened to him.

Sheffield blokes are on the whole decent but have huge chips on their shoulders. Think the world owes them a living and Yorkshire is the best place on earth.
