Under contract a player only moves if it suits them. My point is a lot of fans see Allen (wrongly) as a get rid of player. I don't see him as FL wants to get rid. Yes and offer might come in that suits Allen and the club. But that is a long long way from certain fans putting him in the bin...

Because they don't intend to sell. Every player has a price.. But if they wanted to move him on, why trigger a clause to run the risk of being stuck with him.

If they intended to move him on they wouldn't have triggered the extension in my opinion. They would have just let him find a new club.

Considering our depth of squad has been a weakness two seasons running I don't see replacing two with one as progress. Allen will bring in very little money. He is a good squad player, a model professional and an example to younger players. He gives us valuable continuity. I can see him staying.

In fairness the Patterson signing came about due to injuries and was just a way of patching up, a short term arrangement that suited both parties.
