Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Wednesday 24th Apr

So basically on Sunday we got screwed because VAR was used and tonight we got screwed because VAR wasn’t used. Sometimes I hate football

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

Yes I remember that. It was in place of when Mr Blue Sky is currently played

4 Wembley visits in 7 years shows the change in our club

Coleman era was the most depressing for me. New owners who had (briefly) backed him, signed some decent players, and we were still crap. Our performances were so lacklustre. By the time things got really bad (Thorn, Northampton etc) the off pitch stuff took centre stage and the poor football...

    MR profile

Robins has said before about how easy his job is because he’s got all the right people in place that he trusts. For a man that has never craved the limelight, I’m not sure what it would be that tempts him away.

    MR profile

No chance. The whole club is now his. He will want to stay as long as it takes for us to get promoted. He’s said that unofficially many times. I very much doubt he would destroy that opportunity for the sake of 6 months at a bottom half premier league side. Robins teams always start slow...

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

There isn’t time. Even with the cut down version they play at KO you can see the ref is waiting to get the game started. The only way they could fit it in is to play it before the players come out, but half the supporters are still in the concourse at that point. Only reason it worked at...

    Championship thread 23/24

Congrats. You've been shite at times, but over 46 games you deserve it

Interesting take on the reality of the promised land

On the contrary, I think people would soon lose interest in a super league, as it would be incredibly boring. With those teams gone, the Premier League would become more like the championship, just slightly more skilful

Interesting take on the reality of the promised land

I’m happy with that. The so called “big 6” stopped bringing anything meaningful to English football years ago. Nowadays they are just a hindrance to other 86 clubs. Take them out and imagine how great the Premier League would be? Last season you’d have had an exciting title race between...

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

It certainly wasn’t as loud. Probably just singers corner singing it.

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

You don’t have to like it in fairness. It’s not played for entertainment value. It’s an anthem. A show of strength & unity before battle.

Media Reaction to FA Cup Semi Final

Those are the weirdest Lancashire accents I’ve ever heard

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

Also, Wembley showed how much better it is if you crank the volume up. It’s played to quietly at the CBS, the crowd completely drowns it out so people go out of sync with the tune. Same with Take Me Home, the rendition at Wembley is the first time I’ve heard us sing it at the correct tempo

How did We'll Live and Die in these Towns start before kick offs?

It started way back at the beginning of last season. However the first game I really remember people singing it was Birmingham last year. Then two weeks later for the Middlesbrough play off game

    Clive

There really should be a chorus of there's only one Clive Eakin at a game before the season is over. If for nothing else just to hear his reaction

    Clive

Most other ones try to be neutral, whereas Clive embraces being partisan. In fairness CWR is probably one only a handful of stations where there is only 1 major club in its area, so it can be partisan

    Atmosphere

Very true. I can’t stand the scousers, but they do at least generate an atmosphere and the club is still part of its city. The Manc clubs are now just global brands that happen to be based in Manchester

    We NEED to appeal that.

I'm not saying we shouldn't complain, just that we won't gain anything as a club. Robins very rarely blames the officials, and that is one of the reasons I like him so much. You can always find an excuse as to why games are lost, and referee decisions are an easy target for poor managers
