Match Thread Coventry City v Manchester United - FA Cup Semi-Final

5 at the back should work well v United in theory. Sit in and soak up pressure. Expose the makeshift defenders with our forwards.

    Bradley collins

I think Thomas has been excellent at times but is also worth a clanger. Kitching isn't good enough for a promotion chasing team from what I've seen and Collins likewise.

    Callum O'Hare

We need better than o'hare if we want to compete at the top end. Any funds we do have should be prioritised for that position.

Aims and Hopes for next season

I don't think we need as many players as others are making out. A quality number 10, right wing and centre back would be the key areas to spend whatever funds we have. We also need a centre midfielder and striker for rotation options. Other areas you might want to wheel and deal on would be...

Collins 6 couldn't do anything about the OG Lati 5 don't really rate him Thomas 6 fell apart towards the end Kitching 4 Bidwell 5 bowler had the beating of him MVE 6.5 positive and got a good assist Eccles 7 MOTM for us Sheaf 5 one of his poorer games Wright 5 looks knackered Palmer 5...

Dabo should have listed to that podcast. Never scored in the right end but decides to put it top bins in. A shoot out

This team will be better than the 22/23 team

This is also a much harder league than last season. Leicester Southampton and Leeds far stronger then the 3 promoted sides. Add Ipswich in there too.

    Watford Ratings

Collins 6 did well but not good enough for the goal Bidwell 7 good going forward and locked down the left side Eccles 7 actually poor defensively but was brilliant going forward in both positions Thomas 6 caught out a few times Kitching 8 excellent with the ball and winning headers Lati 6...

Exactly. There's seems to be a strange obsession with nice clean technical play (godden?) Instead of effective players amongst a section of the fanbase.

    Simms and Wright .....

Wright was getting his shirt pulled a lot and everytime it went into Simms he was pushed in the back. They'll have to get used to it like Vik did

    Simms and Wright .....

Yea but the strikers don't show aggression and passion so we must criticise them...
  17. False9

    Simms and Wright .....

Gyokeres was a one off at this level, no one is going to be a one man attack. As a team we have more points and more goals than this stage last season. Despite needing a transitional period.
  18. False9

    Simms and Wright .....

Yea sure if you want to ignore that they are playing in different competitions and the one game sample size.
  19. False9

    Simms and Wright .....

Of course he is a better all round player, he's going to cost £60-80m in the summer. Probably a top ten centre forward in world football. On pure G/A they both compare favourably to Vik at 23 (Simms) and last season (wright). The comparison just demonstrates how unfair the criticism has been.
  20. False9

    Simms and Wright .....

I thought they linked up well last night, definite signs of a chaotic partnership. They've not actually had many minutes as a two upfront together.
