Match Thread Southampton - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 20th Dec

Adam Herczeg is the ref on Saturday. He officiated our 2 biggest victories of the season. Good omen if you believe in that type of thing.

    14 win countdown to promotion

We achieved 13 wins and 4 draws from the first 18 games. Can that be repeated to take us to (effective) promotion by 39 games? Or is that over optimistic?

    Rivals for auto spots

They will need to offload or deregister players first as they have a full squad. That may not be straight forward

Is 2nd spot really out of the question? If they fix their away form they will be a strong challenger.

    The ‘wobble’ month

The reality is that it will be roughly 50 points and that will probably be achieved within the next few games.

    The ‘wobble’ month

Putting an optimistic slant on it, if current PPG is maintained the season pans out as follows: 32 games - mathematically safe from relegation 37 games - play offs secure 38 games - promoted 39 games - champions Put the dates in your diaries :ROFLMAO:

    Ipswich Team?

It’s 12 days I believe under the standard procedure for elite players, but also states: For exceptional cases involving specialists and a medical committee, this minimum may be reduced to seven days, but this is not the standard procedure.

    Attendances

In Looking at the full list, there’s a strong chance of being above Forest (30,413) and close to Brighton (31,500) if we were to be promoted.

    The ‘wobble’ month

Looking at the fixtures, every chasing team also has a tough month ahead, plus the 2 games in early January. I expect the status quo to be maintained and the 10 point gap to hold.

    Are we going to blink?

One team caught Newcastle. In that scenario we would be promoted.

    Championship thread 25/26!

We’re 10 points clear mainly because up until now there are 15+ well matched teams with very little to differentiate them on any given day.

    Benjamin Bloom

On current PPG, no other team is tracking higher than 81. I do think however that 85 points is a safer bet, with every other team bar us, Boro, Stoke and Ipswich needing at least 2 PPG to get there. Incidentally we require 1.6 PPG for 85 points and those 3 teams require 1.9 PPG.

    My BIG concern

Ipswich win their next 2 and were primed for another one.

    Haji shite

Even if he is, I don’t think recent performances warrant selection, though I expect he will play a big part in the rest of the season.

They've got some 50/50 fitness decisions, but their predicted line up is 5 at the back with Alan Browne dropping into there.
