Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Difficult to say. Structurally, our defence has been good and we’ve barely conceded any shots. It’s just that three of our five goals conceded have been from silly individual mistakes that are (in theory) unlikely to continue at such a rate. I’d say the bigger problem with us in the final third.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Woolfenden is an excellent signing. Gutted to see him leave, but with O’Shea getting the captaincy he was going to struggle to get minutes and it’s hard to keep backup CBs happy. He reads the game very well and his progressive passing is great so I can see why Lampard likes him. Negatives are...

    Championship preview and predictions

Hope you're right about us winning the league, although of course I'd be more than happy if my own prediction came true! Middlesbrough (as well as Millwall) is possibly the controversial one. I like Viveash a lot but Edwards has always played 3atb systems and that doesn't suit the squad they've...

    Championship preview and predictions

Cheers, lots to unpack there! Millwall see post above. Leicester could finish literally anywhere. I had them between 4th and 10th during various points of writing the article and concede they could be lower than that. The first XI is still very good though and the gap between the PL and Champ...

    Championship preview and predictions

Appreciate it's a slightly rogue call but I back them to be the surprise package. Their recruitment has really gone up a notch in the past couple of seasons, some really decent finds from abroad. Lots of continuity as well and I back the likes of of Neghli, Ivanovic and De Norre to step up in...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Hi everyone. I've included Kaine Kesler-Hayden in my 'six smartest Championship signings' article so thought I'd post on here. My team Ipswich are still yet to make a signing, but hopefully we'll have one to add to the list soon...

    Transfer Rumour January transfer window

Hello Sky Blues Talk The first part of my article suggesting a January signing for every Championship club includes Coventry. Perhaps a slightly left-field choice but interested to see if you agree the player I've picked is in a position that needs reinforcements...

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

Do you reckon Gyokeres moves on? News on him seems to have gone a little quiet.

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

I don’t see the hype with Sheff United. The depth isn’t really there and I’ll be surprised if Hamer stays. I’m not convinced by Wilder either.

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

Losing Summerville is a big concern for Leeds but they players who should step up/return from loan are decent. If Joseph starts over Piroe that will make them much better at pressing from the front and improve Rutter as well. Aaronson is another decent option for the attack. In a slightly weaker...

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

Definitely agree about Hull being a year behind. Not sure if you read this when I posted it here on May but there’s a bit of a comparison. Coventry City's patient progress

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

The standard in the top two this season will be lower than last year but beyond that things will be stronger. I’m looking forward to watching it as a neutral for once!

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

I have them 20th but their squad has been completely gutted. I don’t think their owner is particularly patient either so I can’t see him doing what Cov have done and taking a year to rebuild.

    2024-25 Championship preview and predictions

Hello Sky Blues Talk Thanks for all the positive comments when I posted my Coventry article on here in May. Thought I'd post my two-part Championship season predictions piece on here as well. How are you all feeling for the upcoming season? Without spoiling things, I think you're in a very...

    Coventry City's patient progress

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. I definitely won't become that supporter, I assure you! I'm delighted we're up but the Championship as a spectacle is vastly superior so I'm looking forward to watching it next year. It's going to be extremely competitive.

    Coventry City's patient progress

Cheers mate Yep, the foundations are certainly stronger than they were. There's no longer such a wild variation in quality between the best players and the weakest ones. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Coventry City's patient progress

Hi folks Thanks for the positive comments on my last piece in January. For those who didn't see it I'm an Ipswich Town fan who writes a blog about the EFL. Just popping on here as I've written another piece about Coventry and how I think this season the club put in some really solid...

    The no loans strategy

It's admirable to want to produce your own players but given the financial disadvantage of non-parachute clubs ignoring loans is self-defeating. Even the relegated teams use them; Leeds with Rodon and Roberts, Southampton with Downes and Harwood-Bellis, Leicester with Fatawu. The sweet spot is...
