    Luton player ratings

I can understand the sympathy for Simms from many fans. But in the end it's the manager's job on the line, often quickly and without any mercy. Simms has had 2 years here to sort himself out and has had plenty of coaching input. We clearly have problems upfront and something's got to be done...

    Let’s be Frank.

Of course it is. FL has to sort out all the recruitment weaknesses of the last few years. Starting with Collins and Binks. Then probably Simms and a centre back.

    Let’s be Frank.

I'm sure FL isn't laughing when he had/has to sort out the terrible keeper, dodgy centre backs, passive midfield and flaccid strike force Robins spent all our windfall money on.

    Simms time…

What style of play suits the bountiful abilities of BTA and Simms?

    Matty Grimes

'doing his role' should include taking a few more risks with forward and longer range passing imo. He is a talented player who needs pushing out of his (long established in this division) comfort zone. Someone needs to break our slow predictable routine. He could help a bit more with his ability.

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Aug

This is the real problem this season. Everyone watched what Sunderland did and know how to play us. I guess he's trying to push Simms out and get another striker in. Not easy on the package we gave Simms.

He'd get tired stretching the elastic tbh

One shot on target, one keeper save. Against Hull at home.

Not sure what perspective you have. Their keeper hasn't made a save yet.

    Positive Haji

The first of those was a fairly open game where he had space to control the ball, look up and move forward. He is very good at that, usually. The second game they had a low block, no space, tight on him. He struggles physically and mentally with that. We need to get the ball forward to him much...

    Transfer Rumour Charlie Hughes

Then again doesn't it unsettle Kitch, Thomas?

    Jack Rudoni

The lads done well. Robins had him playing wingback not that long ago.... He'd be best improving his craft with Lampard and playing another full year here. Jump too soon and he could end up as a (rich) squad player.

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

Just keeping it real. Nothing bitter.

    Who Else Is Nervous?

I have my usual Cov low expectations. The main positive so far is having a decent keeper (hopefully!) that's got to help a lot. If we could bring in a strong, aggressive proper striker I'd be much more positive. For now play BTA and at least get some mobility up front.

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

MVE is no doubt good at this level but is quite flawed defensive. Quite often loses his man or switches off. It's cost us some important goals. Hopefully our full backs can be tighter defensively. Including JDS who is still a worry.

    St. Pauli. Their fanbase.

    A good bunch. Interesting club.

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

Having been optimistic about Bassette, after what we've seen I'm not sure he has got what it takes to develop into a decent striker. He isn't keen to get in the box, can't really beat a player, doesn't shoot well. His movement is ok, pace decent but that isn't enough imo.

Blog CCFC Analysis - Ellis Simms - The Enigma

Bassette doesn't actually get in the box much or attack the goal. So not for me.

Blog CCFC Analysis - Ellis Simms - The Enigma

We can't continue with 2 hit or miss lethargic forwards. It would make a huge difference to get a centre forward with aggression who actually likes getting in the box, making a nuisance of himself, rattling defenders, who is desperate to score goals. Simms needs to go.

Congrats the quickest anyone has ever been put on ignore in the history of SBT! You're a total bellend.
