    Clarkson, Hammond and May

Met Clarkson a few times when his daughter was at Rugby School. She popped into our shop in the town centre from time to time. Found him nice enough. Was in London during the early hours for work a few years ago and a chap that was absolutely smashed staggered into the road, pulled himself up on...

Chelsea make approach for 17yo Jack James

As I said that’s in terms of raw numbers and percentage. A lot of National League players are earning more than what a fair few are earning in the EFL. If you’re playing in that the chances are you’re earning a decent wage.

Chelsea make approach for 17yo Jack James

Mentioned this on another thread. Chelsea have the best hit rate for players going through their system in Europe. They have more ex academy players aged 25+ playing in the top 5 leagues here and in the top 2 leagues in the 10 best countries across the continent. That’s in terms of total numbers...

Coventry City lose top youngster as Manchester City swoop in

You’re right about Man City. They’ve had a lot of success with academy players. However Chelsea have more former academy players aged 25+ playing in the top 5 leagues in England and the top 2 leagues in the rest of Europe than any other club. That’s in terms of percentage of players that have...

Depends on how much money you earn in that time.

Moving from a Cat 2 to one of the best academies in the world. It’s a no brainer.

    Brum

I think Rotherham will win that league. Signed some very good players that are experienced at that level. Wrexham will be fine when it comes to FFP. They’re getting 15m on the balance sheet from Disney each season. Can’t see it being long until Blues and maybe Huddersfield get a similar deal.

    The holiday 2023 thread

Vilnius is the coldest place I’ve ever been. First visit resembled the scene in the airport in Cool Runnings where they put all their clothes on pretty much as soon as the plane door opened. Nice place. Riga was worth a visit too and so was Kaliningrad although I wouldn’t recommend that now...

Cancuun/PDC/RM area? If so do Coba. Best of the ruins to visit. When we went we could climb it but I’m not sure if that’s still the case now.

    Carsley the interim?

I hope Carsley gets it permanently. Potter hasn’t done anything more than him to deserve the job. Also if you were Potter and earning a huge sum of money for sitting on a beach for the next 3 years why would you take a 50% pay cut to go to work?

Season Ticket Holder Survey - Travel

Just filled it out. Doesn’t affect me as I walk 20 mins down the canal. Would be great to see it put on though. Something has just popped up in a group I’m in. Has anyone seen anything on away travel? Again not something I’m likely to use but I can’t recall seeing anything on it anywhere.

    Pre season to Germany

3 of us are staying in Frankfurt. My youngest’s first away game. Flying out of Heathrow tomorrow. Hopefully that goes a bit more smoothly than things have gone there the last couple of days.

How many of us going to Germany?

Depends on how you look at it. We’ve paid: Groups: 30€ R16: 50€ QF: 60€ SF: 75€ F: 95€ Due to our cap levels we knew that’s the price we’d be paying. If we weren’t so high we’d be spending a lot more.
