I believed in him because I was sick of champagne politics by people that didn’t give a fuck. He had a different style - a compassion that you rarely see. I make no apologies for supporting and defending him. Was that naive in the cold light of day? Yes because sadly that style didn’t work for...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It’s happening - the debate seems almost meaningless from this point on. Boris owns this - it’s all on him now.

But it’s been a collective failure of Labour and Tory governments to not have a functioning system. We need unskilled and skilled immigration, and each group needs its own robust system - not a one size fits all model.

It’s not about ‘increasing’ immigration for the sake of it. But where do you get doctors/nurses if the country can’t produce it’s own? It’s multi layered and very complex.... not just the sub total of Farage standing in front of a poster saying ‘don’t let them in’

No one can mitigate for that kind of logic. I heard lots of people saying that didn’t like Corbyn - but never could articulate why. At least on here those that disliked him explained their reasons why and you could understand - even if you fundamentally disagreed. Perhaps the next leader won’t...

It wasn’t about it being Corbyn, it was about the policies and vision and him being the first to bring them to the table. In the future Labour have to retain the majority (not all) of those ideas if they ever want to be a force in government.

    General Election 2019 thread

On reflection... A devastating night for Labour. It’s biggest mistake was it’s call on Brexit. I have always been uncomfortable in the notion of not respecting democracy (check my posts if you don’t believe me) and it appears that the electorate want Brexit. Our members wanted to remain... but...

The way the American system works is even more fucked up than FPTP. I still think you’ve got this wrong. I’ll be the first to hold my hands up if you are right.
