    Gas and Electric

I had a smart meter fitted last year, it worked for about 2 months. British Gas (easily the best/worst example of the folly of Thatcher's privatisation) have just been sending me estimated bills rather than bothering to come out and sort it.

You can be pretty naive, this isn't some noble act just Tory rats positioning.

    Looking Ahead to the Summer

Wasn't it implied in Boddy's programme notes https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2022/january/pusb-from-the-board-versus-stoke-city/

And even if you were, the cause of the Chernobyl disaster wasn't something inherently wrong with nuclear, it was a number of avoidable factors. Quite a few old the Soviet era reactors are still going today.

    January Transfer Window

I know it's Bright but presumably Robins didn't sign him for nothing. Where is his replacement?

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

That is completely wrong. It is 543 deaths which have occurred over the past couple of years, not all yesterday.

Because boneheads like you would start complaining about why the number of people killed by something else wasn't published daily.

    January Transfer Window

We might as well stop making signings full stop as we can't remove any risk or cost associated with them.

The problem is that we've left (and that's the UK and a lot Europe aided by the pro market EU) essential infrastructure at the whim of the market. The type and level of investment needed in nuclear can only be delivered by the public sector. Investors want returns too quickly which ultimately...

I don't think all of Europe protects corporate profits at the expense of billpayers like we do here.

    Walker to pompey

Walker's confidence must be on the floor. I agree he will come good, his positioning and movement in the box is decent yet since Kane (the best crosser at the club) has played regularly Walker hasn't.

    Championship 21/22

Not sure this season is really much different from any other we genuinely started very well. We've got 40 points from 27 games, at 27 games in (assuming all teams broadly have played 27 we'd be): (Year : Place : Points off 6th) 2021: 7th : 2 2020: 7th : 2 2019: 8th : 3 The team in 6th each...

    Looking Ahead to the Summer

I wonder if that's the reason why they're going on sale even earlier, you might sell more while there is still a mathematical chance of making the play offs than later on if there isn't. If the team doesn't make the play offs and ticket prices go up the number of ST sales I suspect will drop...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It took hours the other day because they've just started publishing reinfections, they're hiding nothing. I hate the Tories but the data the government publishes is world leading between the dashboard and the ONS infection survey. At a point in time publication of daily data does become...

    Championship 21/22

He got Norwich promoted in 2015 after taking over when they were outside the play off places. He did well at Preston, 3 top half finishes for a team with a relatively low budget.

    Premier League thread

Quite funny reading about the Dele Alli move, apparently no fee is due until he makes 20 appearances at which point Spurs are due £10m. The most he can make this season as he's cuptied is 18.
