Ones that got away / ones we let go

Like most on here I read all I can about the City. That summer Murphy was quoted as saying he wanted to stay and was prepared to take a wage cut. However, Pressley never stated that he was willing to negotiate, things were allowed to drift and I am sure Murphy just needed to sort his future out...

If you could sign one player...

His reaction to the broken nose says a lot about his desire and passion to play for the club. Disagree that he was average. I think he did well here and was a commanding centre half. As always, it's all about opinions.

    Will SISU gamble?

I did wonder if they might sell season tickets for next season in the next month or two, at this year's prices. They would be asking fans to gamble, at least those who don't automatically get a season ticket, that we will get promoted. However, may be too late now for this transfer window.

Wasn't offered a contract so had no choice.

Would have been far better to keep Aloisi after relegation from the premier league that have splashed out on Hughes, who did little for us, and Joachim who was always injured. Think he would have scored goals in the second division.

If you could sign one player...

My son works with someone who is a friend of Bigiramani, she attends the same church as him. She knows my son is a City fan and told him that Bigi was going to sign about two months before he actually arrived. We thought it was simply gossip but turned out to be true. I also remember Gary...

    Best City XI of all-time - LM/LW

No, genuinely happened. There is some film of the goal which was shown at Fargos in the summer.

    Best City XI of all-time - LM/LW

First of many votes I would think for the one and only Tommy Hutchison. 60s

    Chesterfield Media View

We listened to Peak Radio on the way home yesterday as they cover Chesterfield matches. It was interesting to hear some of their views. Some clips of the commentary were played. The pitch invaders were described as "cretins" and the guy who confronted the goalkeeper, Tommy Lee, was a "moron"...

    Maf!!

Was also excellent on his debut against Shrewsbury. Seems to be turning into the latest whipping boy.

    Maf!!

Not true. Was highly rated by fans at West Brom. TM has proved he is no fool, wouldn't pick him if he couldn't do a job. I did think Tudgay played well when he came on. I didn't think MAF was great but not as poor as some are saying.

Last game Fortune started(Colchester) he was man of the match.

    Bigi

I didn't think that this was Bigi's best game for us since he came back and at the moment I think Fleck would be first choice. However I think he is a useful signing and has done okay since his return. I don't think TM has made a bad signing yet and he certainly seems to rate Bigi. TM a better...

    Mowbray's initial demands

If, as Sisu say, the club now is standing on it's own two feet, receive no financial help from the parent company, and either sink or swim on the money they generate themselves, then shouldn't any transfer fees received go entirely to the club?

    Job

I first noticed JOB in the cup game away at Barnsley 2 years ago when I thought he was their best player. Last season I thought he was often the only City player worth watching. This season I think he is one of our main players, we seem to suffer when he is not in the team. He is a skilful...

    Atmosphere today

Agree that Wasps are indeed a franchise club, shame for the fans that have followed them for years in the south east. It's also a shame that we still have to have segregation of fans at football so that 200 Oldham fans have to sit miles from anyone else in the ground. It's not just "posh" sports...

Best City XI of all-time (Left-back)

Bobby McDonald for me. Great attacking full back in a great attacking team. Just shades it from Chris Cattlin. 60s

Best City XI of all-time (Right-back)

Graham Oakey for me too. He would have gone on to be a great player for us but for injury. Loved watching him beat player after player in mazy runs down the wing. Most attacking and exciting right back I have seen. Brian Borrows in second place. 60s
