    SISU board...

They have been keeping the club alive for the last four years. You may not like them, or how they run the club, or who they are, or what they stand for, or where they're from...but which other mug is willing to pay the bills?

It's sad to think that a generation of CCFC fans have grown up with Foster, Turner, Eakin, Winch and co as their source of news. I remember back in the day when the local Coventry media had Rob Gurney, Adam Dent for the CET, Adam Mountford (now Test Match Special editor), Phil Mercer. Night and day.

    Club Statement

Maybe? But that's very subjective, and doesn't answer the questions concerning the breakdown of the deal. That's what we ought to try to figure out, at least try to come up with some possibilities. Tanned Ken scuppering it for his own benefit just seems too unlikely considering a) the probable...

    Turner having medical at Cardiff

Linnell on Twitter Brace yourself for semicolons galore, a championing of real people's telly, and the 'insights of an insider' re. CCFC and the media. In other words, he is Coventry's Alan Partridge. Not hard to imagine him dining with Sue Cook and Bill Oddie.

    Club Statement

But surely Tanned Ken would get some kind of pay-off for helping facilitate a sale of CCFC? And even if not, would his SISU paymasters be pleased about his scuppering of a bid IF they wished to sell?

    Turner having medical at Cardiff

A bloke says that another bloke told him that another bloke told him that another bloke was going to sign somewhere else. It's a non-story.

    Club Statement

The question is why Tanned Ken and SISU would wish to dismiss a bid for the club.

So what exactly is your insightful critical assessment of SISU and Hoffman?

    Broken Britain

Your profile says that you are 30, so you grew up when most of these measures were being implemented/already implemented. And considering the tone of your posts, I assume that you consider yourself to be an upstanding citizen. So...why is it that people like you can turn out okay in such an...

    Broken Britain

Liberalism got you the vote, the right to choose, equal opportunities, an education, a health service etc. So first off, accept that you're better off because of progressive politics. And secondly...what would the right do that's so different? These thugs are criminals, for sure. But if we...

    Radio 5 live

The 'old guy' is Peter Allen, a highly-respected broadcaster. As for the girls, I think we all ought to be interested in their opinions. The rioters broke the law, committed acts of vandalism, theft, and thuggery, and ought to be punished for it. But if you want to stop this sort of thing in...

    SBT Negativity!!!!!!

Some questions: 1. who would you replace SISU with? 2. is it better to have SISU fund the club or risk administration? 3. what do you mean by 'positive rubbish'? 4. who is failing to recognise things are bad at the club? 5. what happens if you drive the board out? I'd...

    CET Hoffmans OFFICIAL Bid.

You'd have to bet on SISU selling up. They've shown little-to-zero risk since the global financial meltdown. And if they're at the point where they're remortgaging Ryton and selling up Prozone, then you'd have to think they'd be willing to cut their losses and take a nominal kickback.

    CET Hoffmans OFFICIAL Bid.

I wouldn't mind Ranson back myself. He seemed to be one of the more progressive chairmen out there.

Why are we in such a financial mess relative to other clubs our size?

I remember the fans singing "There's only one Bryan Richardson" (in a positive sense!) There's no question he was once a popular chairman, and equally no question that many of the fans want too much of everything. Even after all the club has been through, there are still calls to 'break the...

Why are we in such a financial mess relative to other clubs our size?

OldSkyBlue: There are clear reasons why most of the fans lay the blame at Richardson's feet. In the span of a few years, CCFC went from a top flight club that owned its ground to a second-tier club that was homeless and around £60m in debt. That was entirely under Mr Richardson's tenure. This...

Why are we in such a financial mess relative to other clubs our size?

Oldskyblue: you can't say "lets have some facts supported by real evidence, not just expressions of opinion that are asserted as fact" when that is pretty much what you did throughout a long post. * maybe we'd have sold and rented back Highfield Road (no data to support that argument) *...

Why are we in such a financial mess relative to other clubs our size?

Yes. It was on his watch that the City were relegated, put £60m in debt, and sold our home. That is a crippled ship. Even when we cut costs to the bone in the McGinnity/McAllister era, we were still running at a loss. Can you think of any plan to make the club profitable that doesn't...

Would you change your job for more money?

Think that's a bit harsh. Other reasons can factor in too: geographic ones (players wanting to stay in London), the motivation of winning trophies, personal growth (experiencing life/football abroad), the family not settling, etc. Where I'd agree is that few players have any sense of loyalty...
