This is all totally miserable stuff, but I have to take my hat off to Gus - arguably the most enjoyable player to watch in a City shirt for me since Robbie Keane. The goal against Luton might have been the most LIMBZ moment of my life in football. He certainly wasn’t as consistently brilliant as...

Yeah that stuff I said about playoffs being the bare minimum to expect this season….not so much anymore.

Until very recently, any young player worth loaning out to another EFL team has been needed to fill out the first team squad here. Now that appears to be changing, I imagine we’ll see more deals like this one.

    What’s it all about?

I’m sorry, this is the Earlsdon school of argument. You’re a couple of hours away from challenging me to a cage fight at this rate. My answer to your definitely-not-a-straw-man anorexia question is that I think any kid struggling with that deserves the school’s full welfare support, regardless...

    What’s it all about?

That people can and do identify as a different gender from their biological sex due to a varied and reasonable set of concerns that deserve our consideration and respect I know that statement implies to you that I support (or am naively enabling) some kind of sinister insurgent subculture that...

    What’s it all about?

Well what trans kids are trying to do here is establish a principle whereby anything they say has to be immediately accepted by the school, so yes legally, the teachers would have to concede that WW2 never happened. Is that what you think is going on here?

    What’s it all about?

I think you’re seeing this as a discipline/authority issue rather than a welfare one. No-one is suggesting that kids are going to start seizing control of the curriculum and the PTA because a tiny fraction of them are struggling with their personal identity.

    What’s it all about?

Well my point is that expecting teachers to treat these issues as “charades” by default isn’t going to be sustainable. I haven’t seen any evidence that there’s a widespread problem of kids being insincere about wanting to identify as trans, so treating all cases that way is just going to make...
