In case anyone is wondering, this isn't true. Bad flu year is about 30k deaths (including pneumonia). Covid killed over 70k in UK in 2020, bearing in mind it didn't really kick in until spring. For a bit of perspective there were over 30k Covid deaths in January 2021 alone, more in one month...
