Fisher: Why Andy had to go

They'd better not appoint Megson, Blackwell or McLeish then if they want people to attend games!

Fisher: Why Andy had to go

You might be right, but didn't Thorn say the Bury game was an important one? Waggott says they wanted 7 or 9 points from the first three games. Maybe Thorn knew if he didn't get to at least 5 by the end of the Bury game he could be out of work? Maybe that was the reason for his angry reaction...

Fisher: Why Andy had to go

Confusingly though Don, I've just read in another thread Waggott reportedly saying the signings were a collective decision... Anyway, assuming for the sake of a middle ground, the signing's were largely selected by Thorn and approved collectively, yes, he certainly looks to have picked some...

Waggott: Is development director, Shaw and Carsley going nowhere

Huh... On another thread Fisher is reported saying Thorn selected the new players. On this one, Waggott is reported saying it was a collective decision. Strange.

Fisher: Why Andy had to go

Well, whether they work out or not, at least we'll know who identified this summer's signings: "He gave us a list of players which Steve Waggott delivered."

Ooh, this is like Catchphrase. Is the answer "take it one game at a time"? :D

I thought pre-season Elliott could be a good signing - if we could keep him fit. I'm glad it looks like he's beginning to fulfil that potential and I just hope he stays fit!

    Thorn v Shaw - A comparison

Playing devil's advocate for a second, ponder this: Cov gave up a 2-1 lead yesterday to draw 2-2 in 90 minutes. We won 3-2 in 120 minutes. Would a Thorn side have won any of the last three draws if the games had been played over 120 minutes, not 90 minutes? (ps. My answer would be...

    Reece Brown

Would it be fair to say that people tend to give Reece Brown more praise when he plays at centre back and more criticism when he plays elsewhere? I thought he had a reasonably solid game last night at centre back and it's left me wondering if the issue is one of marketing. We've been told he can...

Or bust! I fear Sisu are gambling on getting us up in one season. If that fails, will there be any chips left to play?

Great minds Si, great minds. Though Peter Shirtliff is currently only care-taker manager at Bury, I believe.

I'd hope so given there's only three vacancies in English league football at the moment! :)

Was Jordan Clarke's feline involved too? If so, wouldn't that make it a cat fight?! :D ..... I'll get my coat.

when was the last time we won from a losing position

There's a thread with the answer on below somewhere. I think it's called 3 years 8 months! (that's also a clue to the answer!) :)
