No not at all! Rudoni was tiring early in that second half imo, but still offered a decent amount of quality at times, so can see why he was left on tbh. Him and Wright are the ones who are likely to get the last minute goal or assist.
He hasn’t turned shit. He’s only just got his foot in the door and people get overly emotional and weird when we don’t win. People are losing their minds over centre halves giving away a free kick for crying out loud.
I get that you probably think he didn’t have faith in BTA. However, I don’t think that’s what was going through Rudoni’s head while he was absolutely blowing out of his arse.
There was a moment in the second half where BTA had made a great run and was in decent space onside and was screaming at Rudoni to play the pass and Rudoni went for the easy option instead and BTA did not look happy!
Not far off where I’d be. I’d probably give Rushworth a 4; initial free kick save okay, but wall positioning is somewhat his responsibility.
And I thought BTA was about worthy of a 7.
Do you know what though, fair play to Oxford. Had a disrupted pre-season and came out that second half a different animal.
They knew they couldn’t match us for quality on the ball, so they just came out and fought. Second half they seemed like they won every second ball for about 20 minutes.
He just said after witnessing Torps free kick it felt it was only right to sacrifice him to the Gods of football, and let him die on the pitch alongside his team mate, Matt Grimes.
I think he could have been played midweek, but only if he played less minutes with a plan for less minutes today as well. But essentially, I agree, I wouldn’t have played him at all.
Don’t think it can really be an off day, just needed to be subbed on 60 mins rather than crucified on the pitch. Allen would have been a fine option for that period.
It’s a lot of minutes for Grimes this early in the season.
People who have never exercised before in their lives, let alone past the age of 30 will struggle to understand of course.
“it’s only been five games, they’re professional footballers for god sake” blah blah blah.
BTA was decent today and sometimes people forget that it’s not necessarily that a different player is “better”, they are just different so the opposite defender has to instantly adapt his game.
Sakamoto instantly gave their fella on the left something different to defend against.
