You say that, but Derby had Mason Mount and Harry Wilson on loan, and they completely transformed that team. Get the right youngster(s) on loan and it;s fine, Still looks raw, but we need Bapaga signed up on a contract before someone snaps him up for pennies. Assuming someone that age can be...
It was when he turned that man in the middle of the park that did it for me ...... (I realise this can be misread. I am sure Gustavo will realise I'm not casting aspersions!)
He did get caught badly out of position early on, but apart from that did well. From a defensive point of view it looks as though it will be his pace that will be his biggest asset, rather than any obvious heading, tackling ability. But the lad is very quick.
It was nice to see JJ looked as if he was working his way back to something like his old self. He didn't look quite as nervous about potential contact as in previous glimpses of U23s outings. It gave me a bit more hope than I had before, that he might make it back to where he was.
You could see Hamer had ability, and Allen will be fine (just clearly getting back to match fitness - when he does he is going to be a big player for us this season)
Agree, though would be interesting to see the revenue split he attracts for the club/ versus himself. However, although he is a bit of a one off, Barca shouldn't have allowed themselves to be hamstrung financially, or politically over one player.
Talking in general, Evo. Messi at his best couldn't have lifted that team to beat Bayern. Just feel sorry for him. Greatest player I have ever seen, so would hate to see whatever is left of his career in a struggling team.
Got to feel sorry for Messi (unless he has influenced who Barca have bought). Must be frustrating in the big games to have players so inferior to his ability in the side.
He played regularly for Bristol Rovers, and the majority fans seem to want him to stay - some thought he may be captain this season. Apparently the new manager wants more of a footballing side than scrappers?!
