Turning an assumption on its head

Will CCFC be able to dictate how many away fans can be allocated though? Surely the 1,200 is down to Northampton. Can't the City ask for a smaller away contingency if need be? Only problem I could see is how it is all sectioned off I would have thought.

Turning an assumption on its head

Thing that also gets me is this assumption therefore that we are going to do well. That people will come crawling back when we start doing well. The way things are set up (smaller ground, less fans, disenfranchised fans etc.) points to me that we will do anything but well. We make midtable...

Turning an assumption on its head

Been a few posts on both here and GMK saying that people will come crawling back to the club and to Northampton if we are doing really well. Well, I'd like to turn that on its head and ask if people think crowds will start dwindling away if we start doing really badly? All this bravado about...

    Home.

I love the Ricoh too. Really annoys me when people come on here and talk about us fans 'suddenly' now liking the Rioch. I've always loved the ground. Am very proud of it and everyone who comes to visit such as ex players, all say what a fine stadium it is.

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

What people do need to understand is that the likelihood of it only being 3 years away is a wildly optimistic estimate at best. Quite possibly it could easily be 5-7 years. There is design, planning, objection, building etc. etc. etc. This is one thing that worries me most of all. If it is 3...

    Fan owned club

But if you wait until CCFC are no more then surely you're too late. I can see the desire to start a new club now. Then, if CCFC fals into new ownership the two entities can merge. The whole point of the new club would be that they are Coventry City supporters.

Well thanks for letting us know. Aren't your lot pee'd off? I know I would be.

And so we then come back to the notion of Cov Sphinx coming over and playing at the Ricoh. They are higher up the pyramid. It would be Sphinx though and not a new phoenix club and we would all have to accept that.

Cracked it ! Coventry & Nuneaton united A FC

I wonder what Nuneaton fans would think of this? :thinking about:

we support the groundshare - sign here

They are. Wouldn't put it past our owners at all in at least trying to move us elsewhere.
  13. Otis

we support the groundshare - sign here

Exactly. Who exactly is hurting the club the most? Owners that take the club away from its fans is the answer. We have a big game against Wolves if we were doing well and we'd get 20,000 easy at the Ricoh. This season it can only be 7,600 max. Which genius came up with that? :thinking about:

we support the groundshare - sign here

I don't quite agree. I think it will feel in some ways like it is not still our club, but it still will be our club. I think that feeling would wane over the years though and if we were at Northampton 4 years down the line I can well see any embers of loyalty dying away. For me I will tune...

    Fan owned club

I just don't like this idea of us all but taking over another club that is in a completely different town. Isn't that what Sisu are doing at the moment, taking Coventry City to a different venue away from its home? :thinking about:
  16. Otis

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

But that wouldn't make any statement to Sisu and CCFC would it? 3,000 at the Ricoh for a game to watch whoever would make a clear statement to the owners.
  17. Otis

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Isn't that kind of like the whole point? If the stadium is free and available it would give them chance to play on a big stage and for disenfranchised City fans the chance to watch some football.
  18. Otis

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Can't see them playing elsewhere, can you? ;)
  19. Otis

    Fan owned club

I've always been in favour, as long as CCFC no longer exist. If CCFC now play at Northampton for for 3 years plus, it will almost be like them not existing anymore anyway in many ways. See no problem with starting a phoenix club and then if new owners of the City come in, merging the two into...

Traffic would be totally gridlocked. Cannot see this getting past the application stage.
