You’re right. IMO he deserves the farewell. Some doubt his performances in tournaments but for example when it comes to the Euros only 3 players in history have scored more than him at the finals. Those being Platini, Cristiano Ronaldo and Shearer.
It’s a friendly. He’s our all time top scorer and always gave his all for his country (probably at the the detriment of his career). As I said it should’ve happened two years ago and I hope it doesn’t descend into a circus like Terry, Podolski, etc.
It’s the right thing to do. Should’ve been done a couple of years ago and it’s a shame it’s not against a bigger nation though. Just hope it doesn’t end up being like Podoski’s testimonial last year. He was subbed off and is still walking round the Westfalenstadion waving at the crowd now.
I wear one with pride and buy a few of the lapel badges every year so I can put one on every work shirt and suit to save swapping them from one to the other.
He used to drink in the Oak and Black Dog in Stretton on Dunsmore and always seemed a very nice chap. Wouldn’t pay to see him though. Not quite sure what they’re thinking with this one? Maybe he’s there to question Tim.

Tim...
Was Twickenham available for the first game? Would’ve been a better option. It’s impressive that Spurs have managed to get the stadium to the point it’s at now in a relatively short amount of time but they should’ve been a bit more realistic and planned for two years away.
