The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I’m not twisting it. It’s a remain paper. They are pinning their hopes on Corbyn (as caretaker) to at least delay Brexit. Ps It says ‘....since ousting Johnson in time to affect the Brexit process may also require the creation of caretaker government government under Labours Jeremy corbyn’ ie...

I don’t understand the point Tony. FT are remain, I’m guessing they now feel the best way of delaying/stopping Brexit is by Corbyn being appointed as caretaker PM.

They obviously view Remain in the short term over political allegiance. They mention ‘caretaker’ as they think Corbyn will stop/delay Brexit. As I said yesterday I don’t agree with the methods but this will bring it to a ahead. WTF will another delay do (if the EU grants one)...we’ve already...

Whilst Farage won’t go away if Johnsons already delivered brexit, the Brexit party support will drop significantly (most normal people just want a sensible deal). If he hasn't by the time of the next GE, he’s done

ps Unless he delivers No deal and the country turns to shit !

See my post above about the current actions possibly helping it get through Parliament. Why would he get brought down at next GE ? Most in the country just want this over and done with. If he delivers Brexit then he has more chance of remaining in power.

So could not getting Brexit done by 31 Oct (as it will see a continued rise of the brexit party). As I mentioned above I think there is more to this decision than first appears

I hadn’t realised until just hearing now that once conference season is taken into account we are talking 4-5 days of Parliament sitting which will be missed. As I said earlier I don’t like the mechanism being used but ultimately this will bring matters to a head once and for all. It could lead...

We’ll soon find out Fernando. The fact is if everyone believes there’s no more negotiation and everyone (apart from the extreme/ERG) is desperate to avoid a No Deal, why didn’t MPs vote through the WA then ???

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

They didn’t think they had the numbers yesterday. They might have them today. I think Johnson knows the EU are refusing to budge in discussions because of potential parliamentary manoeuvres which will delay leaving (or potentially end up revoking article 50). As I said I think this step is to...

I think Grendel is correct though. It should be a no confidence vote (not some dodgy unprecedented parliamentary manoeuvre). I think this will flush out positions ie No confidence vote. Either a government of national unity (without corbyn), an election or a stronger position for Johnson to...

I might be wrong (and certainly not trying to defend it) however I presume that if there was no deal by the end of the suspension ie 14 Oct Parliament could still try to seek to stop us leaving on 31 Oct ? I wonder if it’s an attempt to give Johnson until 14 Oct to agree a deal and focus EUs minds.

I voted Leave Astute. I think I’ve mentioned on here before I was sat on the fence right up to the final week/day but ultimately decided when reading up on the history of not implementing EU referendums, considering their behaviour towards Cameron (it was probably as much his fault as theirs but...

    Bury gone

Quite a few have gone bust....just not disappeared. I think it’s becoming more and more difficult though and while I’ve said there needs to be changes in relation to the EFL, possibly regarding the golden share, there needs to be more sweeping changes in terms of football in general and how...
