Bit of an exaggeration ROS and a bit early to make sweeping statements I’m not saying I disagree with some of the points you make and you might end up being proved right, but we won’t know for several weeks and months how the government has handled this overall (in particular in comparison with...

Agree shmmeee, stabilising/slowing the confirmed cases (which let’s be honest are hospitalised cases over here) over the next week or two has got to be the hope

We all were mate but realistically it’s unlikely to consistently drop for (I’m guessing) a couple of weeks as there will be a lag between the social distancing measures impacting the number of cases and in turn the number of deaths. All we can hope for in the meantime is for numbers to not get...

Scary but not a surprise unfortunately, especially with lower numbers over the last couple of days. Just got to hope this doesn’t start to increase exponentially (day on day).

It’s also known that numerous have been totally asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms ps I know one person who’s 99% certain (according to NHS 111) she’s had/got it and cough still hasn’t gone away after a week, then again she hasn’t taken any medication

Yeah, I might be a touch biased but surely finishing the current season is more important than starting next. Who knows how things will develop over the coming months and who could say with any confidence/certainty that next season will be able to be completed as normal without any significant...

Yeah, I think it’s also what Fernando was suggesting ie it’s the the quantity of the initial viral load which could determine the severity of the symptoms (something to do with the immediate pressure a higher load puts on the immune system). Therefore there could be a significant difference in...

This is the problem with graphs though....saw the attached earlier in a guardian article and thought WTF (just didn’t look right)....think it’s exactly the same as Vallences though ! but because of the scale/squashed horizontal (days) axis the gradients look/are different so the reader could...

Im guessing this is an order in principle (subject to passing tests etc)...heard it’s potentially for 17.5m now. They’re not lies. The papers jump on this stuff and rave about it one day (overselling it) and then get annoyed when it’s unlikely to happen for a few weeks (if at all). These tests...

It’s not false. It’s widely reported regarding their post mortem testing. Im not saying it’s a significant factor in the differences in the numbers of deaths but it will mean their numbers are unlikely to be wholly accurate ps my point was relating to the fact that there’s a difference between...

There’s a difference between fudged and a genuine lag though. It also means our numbers (when they do come through) are likely to be accurate Germany on the other hand are not testing post mortem so there figures won’t be accurate... No post-mortem tests Another explanation cited by Italian...

Think that’s just England (another 21 for NI, Scotland and Wales I think)...might be wrong though, Still positive that it’s not shot up exponentially. Fingers crossed we can keep it that way

Yeah, agree, it’s all educated (partially informed) guess work at the moment regarding numbers. I’m not sure them (Ferguson etc) commenting every other day is sensible as I’d imagine the actuals could still fluctuate dramatically

Not sure if someone’s provided an update on cases/numbers but for anyone interested .....infections have increased by 2,493 (yesterday was 2546 I think) and deaths by 209 (yesterday 260) Obviously not great but stable(ish), which I think is good as we can hope for over the next couple of weeks
