Match Thread Coventry City vs. Tranmere Rovers Match Thread - Sunday 13th Oct

Too many over reactions. I’m incredibly pissed off, and hope MR absolutely makes it clear to the players that isn’t an acceptable result, but it doesn’t mean it’s the start of a bad run, or we’re suddenly a mid table team or whatever other hysteria will be posted on here. We play football well...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Tranmere Rovers Match Thread - Sunday 13th Oct

Before people start getting over excited about the lower attendance; it’s a Sunday morning so people will have matches themselves or their children will, transport isn’t as good, it’s the Birmingham half marathon and it’s on Sky. Even at the Ricoh, attendance would have suffered.

Surprised at McCallum over Mason, as while McCallum has certainly improved and is a good player, Mason has been one of the players of the season so far. Midfield three are technically very good, and with O’Hare offering a different sort of run to Jobello/Kast our passing game (if on song) could...

Snowdonia marathon sounds interesting but I would assume difficult!!!

    Positivity

So many reasons to be positive this season. Playing our home fames in Birmingham obviously isn’t ideal, but it is what it is. It’s as big or as small an issue as people want to make it. Things on the playing side are good, and ground aside, things off field are improving too. I’m sure others...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Tranmere Rovers Match Thread - Sunday 13th Oct

After a few below par results and performances MR is well within his rights to make a few changes. Assuming he keeps the same formation, I’d go: Marosi Dabo Hyam Rose Mason Walsh Kelly Shipley O’Hare Godden Hiwula We lose O’Hares creativity in the middle, but it’s mitigated somewhat by the...

    Our Fans

It’s a real shame to read the various accounts in this thread, especially the racism. Fighting at football is never acceptable, but fighting amongst our own fans is another level of stupidity. Also, whatever the event, grown men doing coke is absolutely tragic.

Match Thread Rotherham United vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 5th Oct

Keep the same as is, I don’t understand some of the calls to change the team: Start Kelly - he clearly isn’t ready to come straight back into the team, and why rush when Walsh is a more than adequate replacement (even if he’s becoming a target for some on here). Drop McFadzean - What?! I...

    Gervanne Kastaneer

Not sure I’m as excited as some after his cameo on Saturday; his touch was off and he doesn’t look technically brilliant, plus his positional sense wasn’t fantastic. However as he grew into the game and got on the ball more he turned into the player we all thought we’d signed. His direct...

I’m at the game. Plus, people love to be negative, you’ll see.

Feeling confident. Quiet match thread - bet that’ll change at the first sign of anything to be negative about.

I’m sure this has been asked before but can you pay on the gate today? I think I've roped two mates into joining us last minute!

    abstaining fans

God this is grim reading. I personally don’t agree with or understand abstaining fans; support the team, forget the politics. I do agree with each to their own and all that, however posters peddling the same boring negative rhetoric need to find another forum. We’re in Birmingham, we all...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Doncaster Rovers Match Thread - Saturday 28th Sep

Screams of desperation to remain relevant. I like him, he’s a nice guy and was a good player for us in his day, but Christ what’s the point. And it gives CT more negative ammunition against the club.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Doncaster Rovers Match Thread - Saturday 28th Sep

Why does it appear that every game we’re playing an amazing side we should be wary of. We’re a good side, we’re officially the second best side in the league as it stands. Doncaster (and every other team) will be worried about us. We play the high tempo passing football we are clearly capable...

    Running

There’s quite a few half marathons coming up in October (e.g. Rugby, Leicester, Birmingham). Anyone doing any? I haven’t ran since the baby was born (four weeks Monday), but still tempted to do Rugby and Birmingham. Just not sure how good an idea it is without much prep!

I reckon I’m the only idiot here in shorts. The over excitement of being let out the house for the first time since the baby was born, definitely going to regret it later.

Can people start to realise we’re a very good team, even if we’ve only demonstrated it in glimpses. We’ve played poor teams and good teams (including Portsmouth who everyone seemed to bum), and bar one game, have come away with good results each time. We’ve won ugly and we’ve won pretty. We’ve...
