Normally possibly correct but there isn’t the money about at the moment even the relegated three with their parachute money aren’t splashing the dosh around.
Even with a fairly full strength team Northampton is tough. They have recruited a few new faces and fancied to do well this season add to that our recent league cup record is woeful.
You always need better players we have Hamer, Sheaf, Kelly, Eccles (when fit) Shipley & Allen if still here and then there O’Hare and Bright( fingers crossed) Sheaf was very good v Wolves assuming a loaned in player goes straight into the team who would he replace.
I rate Drysdales potential can’t make my mind up wether he is better at CB or in front of the back line can certainly pass the ball well but not the fastest doesn’t have to be, think he’s going to be a work in progress player this season.
I’d love us to push the boat out for a good quality CB there are one or two out there Ben Davies being one left sided too, but doubt we have the budget for him unless we can loan him on a similar deal to what we had with Sheaf, then there’s Clarke-Salter along with Cranie either would strengthen...
Don’t think this is the best fixture to judge our attendance especially the walk up, late afternoon, Sunday fixture, being on telly etc. I think had the game been at Forest tv or not we would easily have sold 3800 tickets.
Thought last Sunday was a good commited performance v Wolves I would expect v Nuneaton to feature those who didn’t play or played just a short time, perhaps Godden Walker, Drysdale Burroughs, Howley, want to see more of him even at just 17 he looks the part to me & hopefully Bright
But we are a continual work in progress and in an ideal situation would replace our back line with faster quicker and better players but we haven’t got the financial clout to do it certainly not all in one go, so it is bit by bit and Martin Cranie gives us a little time to get one in now and...
What do you call pace though sometimes speed of mind outwits speed of foot, I watched the whole game last night on YouTube and Cranie out thought their strike force almost all the time reading the situations and didn’t get into one on one sprints which most forwards would win. Cranie played over...
I still say the fact he turned up at all suggests there’s a reason for being late might not be a good reason or acceptable to MR who might have known he was going to be late, let’s see what’s said about it.
He’s another James Milner fit as a fiddle obviously won’t last for seasons but I’d think he will atleast two barring injury perhaps a year with a year option, I’d think he’s coaching material too.
Got to get him, probably good enough to go straight in to the team but as a sub covers the whole back line and can play in front of defence too. Still a good player loads of experience his experience at the back and Waghornes at the front end will be invaluable.
